Question about RCA P60921 60" Rear Projection Television
When the TV is plugged in there is a distinct chirpin noise. The TV will not display a picture or sound. The TV is an RCA projection TV (model P60921YX1). No repair activities have been taken at this time.
Rich that chirpin noise is somthing over loding it try checking your horzotal output for short and diodes around the transformer...

The chirping sound is the power supply trying to come up, but can't due to a short or other condition. Open up the set and see if there is any obviously bad (burned) components.

SOURCE: No picture or sound - TV makes chirping noise
The chirping sound is the power supply coming up then breaking down because there is a short somwhere in the high voltage. The most common fail in this area is the horizontal output is shorted ( 237470 ) but what cause this short could be simple cold solder joints or the High voltage transformer ( 239111 ) If you have noway to "ring" the flyback change both parts

I have a ge widescreen there is a clicking sound even when tv is off
My RCA P60921YX2 only chirps when pugged in and continues for a bit even after unplugging. I noticed that resistor R14512 is fried but the bands have burned off. Any idea of th value? Is this possibly the whole problem?
I have the same problem as upallnite. The resistor R14512 has bands burned off and power supply makes chirping. Has anyone fixed this problem? Is this a bad flyback or something else?
