The Acer z3761 computer won't start up, it just gives a blue light an a sharp sound. What do I do?

If you have your manual, please identify which blue light is flashing.

You may want to remove the battery for about 5 minutes, and then try to boot your computer. Make sure the computer charger is not plugged in when you remove the battery.

Discribe what happens when push the on/off button and you try to boot, fan spin? LED's blink? HDD/DVD light blink? Sound? Any thing on screen at boot? What blue light?

Need more info, Give as much detail as you can. What happens when you push the on/off button? Fan spin? LED's Blink? Any thing on the screen? Sound? Does the computer try to start and a second later shut down? Check the power cord, check the AC outlet? Is it on a UPS? Try AC outlet? Can you get to BIOS or Boot Menu? ETC.

Please try to restore it to factory mode or re-install OS

Try taking the ram out and giving it a good clean. Then reinsert it. While your at it might as well give your entire laptop a good cleaning, get yourself a can of air.

Blue screen and clicking sounds generally point to Hard drive issues. Does the system run a POST test or does the screen stay black?

TH eclikcing sounds like the heads are uffering from STICKTION give the drive a gentle but sharp jolt with the palm of your hane and see what happens

my inspiron 530 giving me trouble. Blue light is on, but the computer goes no where. Try to start by shutting down and restarting but the start sound keeps coming fora long time and nothing happens. So to say having trouble starting and sometimes it shuts down but the blue light stays on. Sometimes I cann't even turn off the computer by pressing blue light - trouble trouble trouble

Sounds like the harddrive went bad.
Some people call it the click of death.
Put the laptop to your ear near the harddrive and you will hear the clicking coming from there.
Good news is that it's easy enough to change the harddrive.
Bad news is you lose all your data to this point.
