Hi I have a lexmark 4300 series all in one I work on computers and printers for a living but have never run across this problem with my own printer I bought new ink cartidges and then did a test page but then when I tried to print a document it kept hangin up and telling me it was out of paper even though it had plenty I even tried taking all but three pieces of paper out to print and it kept telling me paper jam or or out of paper I then lifted the hatch to see if I coul see anything going on with the movement of the cartridges but still nothing so I then proceeded to take apart the printer and I found a small circular spring that was laying on the bottom under the cartridges i dont see where it may go or if it even belongs to the printer but my printer is only about a year and a half old and I cant just afford to buy a new one right now so what i was wondering is if there is a parts book that shows where everything is and where it goes on this printer that I can possibily get with out having to pay for it please let me know because I need my printer back thank you.
There are rollers to keep the paper in place during printing. there may be four of these in every printer. if one of the rollers break, one spring would be dislodge. Look for these, one roller may be broken. If there is one, these could not be repaired but can be replaced, remove it, the printer would still work with incomplete roller as long as it can handle the paper in place, without obstruction.
