if the band assigned to the radio doesn't cover the frequencies you want then it will not happen. you need to get the software and the right programming lead. make sure the mic socket is good and clean

QYT KT-8900d not transmitting VHF. UHf is okay, transmits on VHF simplex okay. Receives VHF and UHF no problems

Verify the offset is correct. Was it programmed with chirp or another software. Transmit may have been disabled or programmed out of band.

Maxon Model MCB10A

In order to test this unit you will need a power meter with a dummy load. connect the power meter and turn on the unit, key the microphone and look at the power meter it should have a reading of < 4 watts PEP unmodulated and = 4 watts PEP modulated. If you do not have this reading the RF transmitter in the CB might be malfunctioning. You will need a RF generator, a power meter with dummy load, oscilloscope and a multimeter to troubleshoot this problem with. If you do not have or do not know what this equipment is or how it works, please take your unit to a CB repair shop. Thank you, Shuttle83

VHF transmit power

Hi, It is not typical but neither is there a problem with the radio. Transmit Power output is loosely dependent on the: 1. Frequency or channel you are transmitting. Normally, Marine Band VHF are calibrated for max (25 in your radio) at Ch16 or 156.800Mhz; 2. If the SWR of the antenna is not a flat 1.0, power tends to go down; 3. After some time, the TX side of the radio needs to be re-calibrated; 4. Power Supply - some radios will push max output only when powered with 13.8 and tends to go down when used with 12 volts. Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards.
