Question about Zenith E44W46LCD 44" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

1 Answer

No picture So everything was working great. I've had the TV almost 2 years and today I turned her on and no picture. I could see the bulb was working from the light out the back. Audio worked just fine. I tried all the inputs and menu screens and nothing would show. No abnormal lights on the front. Any ideas before I spend a fortune getting it fixed? Any internal fuses or connections I could check?

I fixed it somehow!?!? So I started taking panels off, checked a fuse I could see and saw nothing wrong. As I was putting everything back, I noticed a switch that is pushed in when the lamp access door on. I reset it by hand a few time plug her in, and presto! it worked. I don't know if it may have been it was unpluged for an hour or the switch, but I thought i'd let everyone know who may have this problem.

Well maybe im not so lucky......As the guest said their's has been doing it for over a year, well looks like mine might be falling in the same category. Every Sat since this first happened the TV will have no picture. Im waiting for about 30 min right now and ill plug her back in. Kinda strange this happens once every 7 days! I guess we know why Zenith dosent make LCD projections anymore. Class action lawsuit anyone? ;)

I hope youre lucky enough for that to be the only time, but mine has been doing this for over a year, getting progressively worse. As of the last 2 days, it has to sit over night b4 it will show an image again. Good luck with this B.S. tv. (Just spent $250 on new bulb last month too, had set 2 yrs. )

Tv turns on w/pic then pic dissapears light blinks 4 times

I have the same issue, we've had to change our bulb three times in less than two years. now we have 61" expensive paper weight. Our current bulb is less than 6 months old. The TV is only 2 years old and like i said this is our third bulb.

the blue light blinks 4 times. you get sound. then a few minutes the the picture returns... then it goes out, and the cycle goes on.

A solution to this would be greatly appreciated.

No picture 2 days ago power went out thru out the neighborhood, once power came back TV worked great. today, go to power on TV, here it clicking, but no picture... cable box working, cable working in 2nd...

It sounds like there`s a sort on the secondaries of the power supply. Before the power went off, did you ever turn the tv off by unplugging it?? In other words, did you turn the power off completely to the set or leaving it in standby?? if you always left it in stby, it will be the capacitors in the power supply, they dry out if the power is always on, so they will need replacing. If you did turn off the power, then I think you`ll find that the power cut had nothing to do with the fault you`ve got now, it will be the Line Output Stage which has failed or gone short circuit. Green screen with sound from cable, but picture is fine with Wii

That would be my solution. The trouble is either in the box or your connecting cables. Verify this by connecting the cable directly to the set. Then try a new set of connecting cables, or call the cable provider to replace the box.

Sony Wega kdf-55wf655 rear projection set keeps turning on and off

If picture quality is poor, be sure you aligned the bulb in the correct manner and be sure the cover for the bulb is not loose. Also, you might want to re check you picture setting as it might have gotten reset when you pulled the plug (I hope you pulled the plug when replacing the bulb).
Heres another solution (maybe temporary) to the problem of no picture and no sound for 30 seconds. I had my tv's power saving setting on "standard" before. After I switched it to "reduced", the problem was fixed. It has been almost two weeks without the problem. I think its a good fix until the new bulb comes in the mail.

TV has sound but no picture

Everything is worth fixing provided the price is right.  However, in this case it's probably not cost effective to repair the unit.  Start with the easier fixes, such as bulbs, etc.  Even then, some of the components can be quite expensive, or simply unavailable.  I would suggest getting a quote from a local repair shop in order to make an informed decision before you get to far into it.  You could end up spending just as much to repair it as you would on a new unit.
