Question about Washing Machines
Whenever I try to dry clothes I get error code E12 after approximately 20 minutes (I haven't actually timed it). Issue appears to be that the machine cannot drain water during a dry programme. If I manually drain water using the hose by the filter on the front and then remove and put back the filter, it then starts again but stops after another 20 minutes. Wash programmes (without drying) work without any problems). Is there anything practical I may be able to do myself to fix to avoid a high charge from Hoover as I am outside the warranty period?
E12 means a problem filling on dry cycle.
Unplug the appliance, take the top off and check that the plastic condenser below the fan is clear and clean.
If this is ok, the most likely fault is the triple valve isn't opening properly to feed water into the condenser.

I removed the top and the back panel. I couldn't find anything that matched the above description. There is a small plastic fan piece, but this is attached to a small metal box which is attached to what I'm guessing is some sort of air chamber (it's a long, wide metal chamber that runs the full depth of the machine, above the drum). The only other fan is in the filter compartment, which is accessed via a small flap at the front o the machine, behind the filter where the water is not emptying during the dry programme, but nothing appears visibly wrong with this (at least to my untrained eye).
As per my new comment above, there does not appear to be any issue with the water emptying. I'm not sure what you mean by a problem filling on the dry cycle.
Richard, I read your post over ther. What you mean with "take the top off". How can I do this?
Look on the back of the top plate. There should be three screws you need to remove, slide the panel back about a half inch and lift it off.

Hi dear.OE code meaning on Lg washer's"machine unable to drain in 10minutes". You can make a little test. Please remove the filter & pour some water in side drum ,watch for water coming out of filter. If it's slow, tub to pump hose clogged.(there must be some sort of fluff or coin clogging hose)if it's not slow, waters comes out freely, run machine on drain cycle & check the pump motor is it running smoothly? If not change the pump.I hope that helps.Thanks.

Usually answered in minutes!
After a further test I can confirm that emptying the water makes no difference. If I leave the machine after the error and then turn it off and on again and then press start, it begins again without touching the water. Of course, it still stops again after another 20 minutes.
Sounds like the British Economy as from April 2017. Press reset and hope. Failing that, sledgehammer. (Disclaimer: Sledgehammer may make you feel empowered, but you may not be completely happy with the results. Also, it may lead to the guarentee no longer being valid) Dave, I would suggest just not putting washing on in the first place. Eau de Farage will combat any nasty side effects from not washing clothes. Alternatively, you could help shore up the UKs economy by constantly purchasing new clothes. Hope that helped. Good luck!
