Question about HP PSC 2175 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Troublesome Printer We've had a 2175 for a few years, but Within the last six months, it has gone through a bunch of problems. First, the scanner wouldn't work. The computer would recognize it and try to scan, but the scanner wouldn't do anything and if I tried to cancel the scan, the printer would lock up and I'd have to turn it off and back on to get it working again. Then, the printer wouldn't print anything. I checked all the connections and even plugged it into different USB ports with no luck. I finally uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers with no luck. Now, the printer won't even turn on. I have, of course, checked the power cord and made sure it was plugged in and all that. Any ideas? I don't like the idea that it died after only a few years of use, but I can't come up with anything else.

I'm sorry to say this, but with those symptoms it sounds like the power supply was slowly becoming defective which sometimes happens. This is also probable if the machine would work when first turned on and then quit after a few minutes. Heat builds up and components begin breaking down with more heat. Best bet is to take it to a repair shop.

Maestro-I just wanted to add that if you have power failures or lightning storms in your area, this commonly causes power supplies to fail. A surge suppressor helps that situation. Thanks and good luck..

I cannot install the software on windows 7 for ce-250 i get an installation support file error access is denied. i cant get far enough to do the patch. what do i do now?

I've posted instructions that will help solve your problem for any machine, but especially for Singers. I've been using my CE250 for the last 4 months using the second method and my friend has successfully used the first for the past 9 months. Just follow the directions carefully and you should be fine.

Follow this link to the full instructions:

Hi,

Unfortunately HP has not issued a separate Vista driver for your printer. They do, however, give some pointers for setting up and using your printer for printing and scanning.

See this page:

Sorry that the news couldn't be better.

Thanks fro using Fixya, just the same.
