AC adapter receptacle on motherboard

AC receptacle on motherboard is malfunctioning. I have to adapters and they are working fine. Is it possible to replace/repair without replacing the whole board? If so who can I send it to? Thanks for the help, tlafrate

The soldered connections damaged the board. The computer would not power up after the repair. Toshiba has a very poor design and is not a manufacturer I will use or recommend in the future.

Toshiba laptop will not turn on

Here below are possible causes and troubleshooting steps of laptop that can't power on, hope it may help:
Possible causes:

1. AC adapter failure.
2. Power jack failure.
3. Motherboard failure.

Possible troubleshooting steps and repair solutions:
1. Test the AC adapter with a digital multimeter. It's possible that you have a failed AC adapter. If you don't have a multimeter, test your laptop with another known good AC adapter.

2.It's possible that power jack (socket where you plug the AC adapter) is broken. Remove the motherboard and take a closer look at the power jack. In some cases you can fix the jack by resoldering it on the motherboard. In other cases you have to replace the jack with a new one. Using a multimeter, test if the power goes to the motherboard through the jack.

3. If replacing the AC power adapter and jack on the motherboard doesn't help, most likely you have a bad motherboard. Replace the motherboard.

Cq61 laptop battery issue

For this kind of issue, please follow up the following steps to check:

confirm the battery and ac adapter connect the laptop normally.Maybe the bad connect lead to this problem. If there are no lights when you turn on laptop, one of possible reason is that your adapter is malfunction.

the second possible cause is laptop dc jack failure. If the dc jack is broken or loose, you are required to replace it or repair it.

Another possible reason is that there is something wrong with laptop motherboard. For this situation, it includs two kinds of possibility,a failure in an electronic circuit and BGA malfunction.

According to the sympton you have described, the most likely issue is your laptop charger failure. Considering replacing a new one:
