Check the capabilities of the printer in the manual. But in general- to get black general purpose printers print all colours. This is the normal way to get a black black in the CYMK process. Some printers offer black only as a setting or a special black/monochrome ink. Some specialist ink suppliers[Lycos] will offer a 'black set' that is where the colour carts are replaced with a shades of grey. Where does your printer come in this scheme of things also take a look here www.fixyourownprinter.com

Hi my plotter always print a blue color on all pages.for each kind i print i have it has no differences.does any one knows about my problem? my plotter model is Canon W7200 thanks best regards

Try printing the Nozzle Check pattern. Check if colors are printed correctly. If not, try Printhead Cleaning A first then check again the Nozzle Pattern. If there's a small changes to the pattern, try Printhead Cleaning B. If problem persist, try changing the Printhead.

Hi. I need to make default setting to print grayscale. Kindly give me the steps. Thanks

Color/black mix
This item allows you to configure printer settings to optimize printer and cartridge performance for the printing environment. If the printer is primarily used for black printing (over two-thirds of the pages are black only), change the printer settings to MOSTLY BLACK PAGES.

Setting the color/black mix
1. Press Menu to enter the MENUS.
2. Press to highlight CONFIGURE DEVICE.
3. Press to select CONFIGURE DEVICE.
4. Press to highlight SYSTEM SETUP.
5. Press to select SYSTEM SETUP.
6. Press to highlight COLOR/BLACK MIX.
7. Press to select COLOR/BLACK MIX.
8. Press or to select the desired option. (Select MOSTLY BLACK PAGES)
9. Press to select the option.
10. Press Menu.

Select MOSTLY BLACK PAGES if you print mostly monochrome print jobs, or a combination of color and monochrome print jobs.

Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya!

Canon Pixma 3600 I want black & white printing only for documents Question: How do i turn off the colour cartridges for black & white printing only?

The Grayscale print option optimizes the look of color slides for printing on a black and white printer by adding shading. The Pure Black and White option prints your slides in monochrome.

  1. Open the presentation you want to print.
  2. Click on the word File in the Menu Bar.
  3. Select the option Print.
  4. The Print dialog will appear.
example:
sayurisan20_3.jpg 5.In the Color/Grayscale section, choose the Grayscale option to print in black, white, and shades of gray. 6.Choose the Pure Black and White option to print in black and white only. 7.Click on the OK button.

Want to print black only mp830

When you do a print request and get the printer window. click on the properties button on the top right side of the window. This will open another window. Look for the color tab and select Print in gray scale. This will cause the printer to print in black only. This will change to black printer only for this print job. If you want to change to printing in grayscale or black only all the time, open your printers and faxes window, right click on the printer you want to change, on the general tab of the window that opens, click on printer preferences, look for the color tab and select print in grayscale.

I hope you have found this helpful.

Pictures to dark

Issue: Tinted printing / Colors are not exact
Solution: Disable Monochrome Effects in the printer driver (Windows)

Disable Monochrome Effects When Monochrome Effects is enabled from the Effects section of the printer's Properties/Preferences, the printed image will have a definite color hue. Follow the steps below to disable Monochrome Effects.
  1. On the Windows desktop, click 'Start', point to 'Settings', then click 'Printers' (Windows XP: On the Start menu, click 'Printers and Faxes').

  2. Windows 2000/XP: Right-click the printer icon, then click 'Printing Preferences'. Windows 98/Me: Right-click the printer icon, then click 'Properties'.

  3. On the Effects tab, click on the 'Monochrome Effects' check-box to remove the check-mark.

Greyscale printing

You may well be on the right track Certainly nothing to do with the printer as such It will only squirt the inks it is told to. So check the printer software[drivers] for starters- Is it possible you have the latest -check makers web site. This may also apply to your graphics card/image editor. Do ensure all the latest[current drivers and patches] are loaded. For example I Paint Shop Pro- Coral will sent updates from time to time some of which seem to be almost as big as the original program. If I have occasion to reinstall or repair the prog- I must always remember to reload the updates.
