I HAVE A PANASONIC DVD,VHS RECORDER MODEL #DMR-EZ48V.WHEN TRANSFER A VHS CASSETTE TO A DVD THE THUMNAILS ON THE DVD HAVE THE DATE OF 1/1/2000. HOW CAN I PUT THE ACTUAL DATE OF THE RECORDINGS ON EACH OF THE...

Try setting the clock on the remote press [FUNCTIONS] go to SETUP menu - locate the CLOCK option (it should be under 'OTHERS' in the setup) and set the current time, press [ENTER/OK] to store if necessary, then press [RETURN] to exit the setup. Once clock is set correctly, future DVD thumbnails will show the actual date/time of recording in this (and similar) model combo units. If auto clock setting is not possible, set it manually as above.

I assume in spite of the wrong date/time, your DVD recordings have been successful. Incorrect clock and date setting usually only affects timer recording for VHS.

If you have lost or misplaced your original owner's manual, you can download a free pdf version (for Region 1 model) from:

http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/support/Video/DVD-Recorders-Players/DVD-Recorders/model.DMR-EZ48VK

or, if you live outside USA, download the 'Australia/NZ' pdf version of the manual (for Region 4 model) from:

http://www.panasonic.com.au/Products/DVD+and+Blu-ray/DVD+-+Players+and+Recorders/DMR-EZ48V/Downloads

either one of these will provide you a full copy of the original user guide/setup including clock.

All free. Hope these suggestions help.

Manual Programming Code

To hand program the Motorola V3m Razr make sure you are at the main screen and type the following fairly quickly.
#073887*
then a new screen will come up asking for a security code.
Most of the time it will be 000000 but if it is not you will have to get it from your provider(Alltel, Verizon, Sprint, Cricket....etc..)
Then from there choose User Activation and then you will have 4 settings
MDN.....
MIN......
SID......
IMSI......

Your MDN is always going to be your current phone number.
Your MIN will sometimes be your phone number but not always. So while you are talking to your Wireless rep be sure to ask them for your MIN and SID
Your SID will be provided by your Wireless Rep.
Do not modify your IMSI
After you have entered these settings just press Done and then the End Call button to return to the main screen. Your phone will not powercycle and you can resume using the auto updated by dialing *2 for sprint or *228 for most other providers.

How do you reset clock on your DVD Recorder DMR-ES15. Can't find booklet that came with recorder.

You can either copy and paste the following link into your browser, for quick-view, and/or save the .pdf document (instructions for Panasonic DMR-ES15 DVD recorder):

http://videolinq.tafe.net/attached_docs/pdf/equipment/Panasonic_DMR-ES15_User_Manual.pdf

(verified and complete to give you a basic operation manual for FREE download)

or you can try to set the clock manually, do this:

press [FUNCTIONS] on the remote while unit is on, to bring up the setup menu, scroll to 'OTHERS' look for 'CLOCK' or 'CLOCK SET' option, highlight it, click it, set the clock. Press [ENTER/OK] to access the date hour minute, etc., then press the relevant remote arrow buttons to select correct time/date, then press [ENTER/OK] to store the current setting. Then press [RETURN] to exit the setup. Clock is now set (this model does not offer automatic clock adjustment for daylight saving).

If the above suggestion does not work, download the pdf and save it for accurate reference. Either may help you.

I GET TO THE WINDOW TO PROGRAM A RECORDING BUT FOR CHANNEL SELECTION I ONLY GET L- L-2 OR L3 I NEED TO BE ABLE TO SELECT THE CHANNEL LIKE 6 THIS IS A NEW HD TV. I AM ABLE TO PLAY EXISTING SHOW ON THE DVD...

Hi.

You will need to connect an antenna and program channels to internal tuner if you want to use the built in tuner.

It is not clear if your problem is with the HDTV or with the DVD recorder.

Both have an internal tuner, and both can tune channels , L2 and L3 are the input lines used when you connect for example to an external receiver.

Regards.

DVD Menu selection not available from Setup Menu

I don't have movies from premium channels, but do have cable HD channels. When I got the message re not recording in +VR, I copied from DVR to HD in PhilipsDVD-R and then dubbed to DVD.

Finalizing DVD

If the size of the vhs recording was in 2hr mode, and the size of the recording itself is about 2 hrs, you may not have enough space to finalize. I would use your PC to finalize the disc - I use Dr. Divx, but you can find many finalizing programs out there.
