Question about Philips 60PP9202 60" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
My Philips Rear Projection tv has some convergence/warping issues. There is a large green curve in the bottom rear of screen about 4 inches tall, and stretching over more than half of the horizontal distance acroos the bottom. The picture has a "double vision" effect all around this area, as well as doubling along the top part as the screen as well. I tried to fix the convergence by manually adjusting the red/blue/green, but it doesn't work--The crosshairs are not straight at all, but rather skewed, and at angles so that the colored crosshairs can never disappear...The center crosshairs are relatively straight, its just the outer perimeter ones that are out of wack..the corners are the worst. Can this be fixed by me, or will I have to pay a repairman $$$ to fix this? I am pretty good with electronics/computers, so I would definately try and fix it first..this tv is a few years old- almost outdated-not really worth a hefty repair bill.. Help...thanks in advance
I have a solution, same thing happened to me, have the tv in shop still. my guy said he has replaced the ssb (?cuircut board) three times. all three times the tv worked great for a day or two then the same thing would happen again. finally he figured out it was some small part, sorry cant remember what it is call. He contacted philips for support or to order the part and was informed they had to discontinue making the part because it was defective and would mess up the ssb everytime. However, even though philips was aware the part was defective and would tear up the ssb they claim no responsiblilty and no replacement part is available. If anyone knows what can be done to repair this issue or has had this problem themselves please post.

Cost to fix by a technician would be about $250 to replace the Integrated Circuit. Worth it if you ask me. Some say you can do it yourself with a soldering gun. Check other website forums such as HDTVoice.com on replacing.

hope to find loss cost effective way to fix the same issue I have with my 60 HD Philips TV
I also have the same problem with my tv! I fix the convergence, but the tv is still warped. With the tv being warped, are there any other specific solutions to fix the t.v. My local technician said the Phillips parts are $$$$$ and they are hard to repair!
no manual, for this but i did try to align the convergence but to no avail. cross hairs, bent unable to straightgen. looking to take the back off and y see if there is a screw or ajuster toggle to help. is there anything i can other than call a repair man?
