I have a sony videoscope TV - 52inch. I was watching it recently then it just went black. It doesn't turn on. What do you think. It is a bit old but it had very good reception up to the time it went dead. It showed no signes of any malfunction before this incident. Please help!!!!!
Thank You,
Jani
I have the same problem. The LED timer/stand by light blinks 5 times, stops, then does it again. I have perfect audio but the screen goes black from 5 seconds to 45 minutes then comes back.I have the same problem. The LED timer/stand by light blinks 5 times, stops, then does it again. I HAVE EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM, MY TECHNICIAN TOLD ME THERE'S A PART THAT HAS TO BE REPLACED BUT SAID THAT HE COULDN'T FIND IT BECAUSE IT WAS DISCONTINUED, I LOOKED FOR THE PART ON THE SONY WEBSITE, AND IT SAID THE SAME THING "DISCONTINUED"!
SO CAN YOU GUYS HELP ME FIND IT? DO YOU KNOW OF ANY REPAIR SHOP OR ANYBODY THAT MIGHT HAVE IT?

Might be a bad High Voltage Distribution block, you will want to call a trained tech to diagnose something a little knowledge can be dangerous with stuff like this.

would think you need to replace the cable board etc. the signal is not getting in and out right. can also be a fault on the power board giving the wrong volts so would check this to. it will tell you on the board what volts is supposed to be. the 5v and 12v should be spot on other volts will vary a little. also check the capacitors for the caps to be bowed up and a brown/ yellow gunk around them and under the board this can be a sign they are failing.
Look on your TV remote and press the button clearly labled PIP or Picture-In-Picture and press that button over and over. It will cycle through all the PIP modes until it turns it off!
Sounds like your TV has a PIP (picture in picture) that allows your AVI (audio visual input) to be viewed simultaneously with your cable input. Check the manual for the correct buttons, but the one you're looking for says either PIP or AVI or something along those lines. Hope this helps
Please post both the exact model number (on the back) and the blink count. The standby light should be blinking a repeated pattern. That info will indicate the problem circuit and allow us to provide you with the proper parts/steps to resolve this.
This is a convergence problem. Look in the back for a couple of large black ICs attached to a heatsnik. These should be marked STKxxx. These are the convergence ICs and either have bad connections or are defective. If you can solder, try resoldering the pins on these ICs. If that fails to resolve the problem, replace the ICs. There may be other parts that need to be replaced as well. I'll look up your model to find the other parts to check. The convergence board as an assembly, I believe, is no longer available. The parts that you require are available.
from experience i have noted that after some time the Horizontal Out-put Transistor (HOT)gets worn out. This is a big black transistor starting with cd,d,t etc mounted on a big heatsink.note the numbers and replace it.
the problem is most likely to be found on the HOrizontal Output Transistors note their numbers and replace them.this transistors are usually mounted on huge heatsinks.
just need to balance the three colors red, green and blue that may help remove the front covers and look for black module that have sccree and focus controls just move a little bet left or right be carefull because you can loos the picture e-mail me for more info
I pressed "Demo" on the front of my TV and it worked, I have an old Sony KP-53XBR35 VIDEOSCOPE XBR - no original remote and the Universal remote has PIP button but would not shut it off.
Finally it's off!!!!
