I have been having a few error messages but I just said to print of the computer and the PIXMA did it. I just recently got an Error message U150 stating my black ink tank cannot be recognized. I had this message a few times and when I opened the copier lid, the tanks came to the middle, no light was on that tank so I took it out, put it back, the light came on and it printed several more times, except after each print the same error message occured. I replaced the tank, I cleaned the printer, I would get the light on when I put the tank in, then when I shut the copier lid and tried to print, the alarm button was on and the same error message came up and no light was showing in the ink tank. I kept making the light come back on, but as soon as the machine took the cartridges of ink to their prospective places, it continued to not work time and again! The light is on until I shut the cover, get the message, open the cover and no light would be there again! This thing cost me $400.00 and I have only had it a year! Please, can someone help me? I made photos for mom's day, printed stuff until last night and in the middle of my printing, error message and it has not printed again. It is a PIXMA MP 500! I tried to call tech. support but their number is no longer valid! It will not even let me get to the maintaince menu to try to fix it myself, it just says that error message and shuts down. Thank you.
Same problem with the printer here.
The problem was that one of the contacts to the ink cartridge inside the Canon Pixma MP500 was bent over so that the printer would not recognise the new ink cartridge.
Check the gold contacts to the ink cartridge.
You should see 4 scratch marks where the contacts are made. Also check inside the printer ink cartridge caddy with a small mirror to ensure that all contacts are operating correctly. Fix with tweezers if required. - And be extra careful when inserting new ink cartridges

Re: constant error message
Check the manual on how to RESET the printer.
It is not always revealed - some makers like to keep some things secret from users.
If there is not a separate RESET button or the manual does not tell you, then try pressing various buttons in the printer section in combination with the power off and whilst holding the down- power up. It will be a trial and error thing - so if you do find it- make note of it for you and post it here.
Mean while do go to Canon Website and ask Tech support

I have Canon PIXMA MP210 printer but problem is that whenever i given comand for print or scan than computer show "Code: 2,114,0" this message therefor printer not print or scan. so please give me solution
Looks like there is something stuck in the insides of the printer preventing it from running to one side. A small paper clip, Ball pin etc., can cause this. You might have to take it apart and look for it. I had fixed a similar problem recently and the stuck object is "HAIR BALL!"
There was plenty of ink left in my Cyan tank but just replacing it with a new Canon CLI-8C one, as suggested by techguru005, did the job. I suppose that the chip must have been faulty? Let's see how long this one lasts! Thanks, techguru005, it's fixed for now.
have had a MP810 about 3 months. Recently I've been getting a U150
error message. My C tank is not lighting up and being recognised. When
I open up and replace the tank the light comes on. Initially this
allowed me to carry on printing but now I have a constant error message
even after replacing the tank. Is there a permanent solution to this annoying problem? I would be grateful for any assistance.
I had the same problem -- error message saying two cyan print tanks installed. Nothing helped (including disconnecting power cord). Then found I had an older cyan print tank still in its pack on hand, Installed that. No further problems. Assume this means print tank giving error is part of a faulty batch so am returning to retailer for refund from Canon.
