Check the easy stuff first. Are there batteries in the mouse and turn it over and make sure it is on the "on" button...if that's ok let me know we'll try some other troubleshooting techniques...

How do I use mouse instead of touchscreen on Samsung laptop

Do you have a mouse connected by cable or a USB dongle? If so, then your computer's Plug and Plug (PnP) capability to detect, install and activate peripheral device drivers will have recognize the mouse and made it accessible to you. If the mouse in not usable, look in Start, Computer, System Properties, Device Manager, Mice (etc.). If you have a Yellow Triangle, click on the mouse then the Driver Tab to Update the driver. This should solve you problem. You may have to Restart to gain access. If that doesn't work. Unplug the mouse connection, Restart the computer, then plug the mouse connection in again. Watch to see if PnP detects the connection and installs it.

How do i connect the mouse with my computer please?

Connect the USB to the port of your PC. Now the PC must detect the new device and install the device to your PC unless the OS is of older version. Now the mouse which has the battery inserted will be detected on the PC.
If this wont work you must download the drivers and install them from the microsoft website .. optical mouse drivers link for your OS.

Q: Troubleshooting: Basic Mouse/Trackball Problems trnsp.gif This article covers some common reasons why a Logitech mouse may cease to function.

trnsp.gif This article applies to the following products:
All Logitech mice/trackballs
Cause:
There are a number of reasons why a mouse or trackball may suddenly stop working. These include the following:
  • defective hardware
  • system configuration changes
  • wireless detection issues
  • hardware connection failures
Solution:
It is possible that the mouse or trackball has failed. A failed unit can be described as a product that works for a period of time then suddenly stops working. Verify that you have not made any changes to the system that might coincide with the failure of the product. For example, if you moved the connection of the device to another port to add another device to the system or if you added new software or made other system changes. Also, verify the device has not become disconnected from the system by checking to see the device is correctly connected. Once you have verified the above potential causes for failure, proceed to the following steps.
1. Wireless Detection Issues
If you are using a wireless mouse or trackball, you should first check to see if you have a connection issue. Please see Knowledge Base article 970 for information on diagnosing and resolving detection issues.
2. Port Connection Issues
If you have concluded that the issue is not due to a detection issue and the pointing device has just stopped working, try the device in another port. If you were using it on the PS/2 port, try moving it to the USB port if you mouse supports it. If you have another USB port, try that other port. If you were connected through a hub, try connecting directly to the system ports to verify the hub has not failed.
3. If the device doesn't work on a second port, try it on a second system, if possible. If it fails on a second system, then the device probably is defective. You may also want to try a second mouse in the same port that the failed mouse was using.
4. If the second mouse does not function in the same port, verify the system port has not failed. Contact the system manufacture for more information on the status of the system port.
5. If either the mouse fails on a second system or the second mouse works in the same port, then you know the Logitech mouse is defective. If this is the case, please contact to inquire about a warranty replacement.

Hi there, my computer cant detect my wireless mouse, even thou the curser is in the screen. but it can detect my keyboard. i did change battery, plug out the wireless antenna, keep pressing the connect...

to know if your windows keyboard and mouse controller is working try to use first a cabled keyboard and mouse, if you find it working try this steps.

first, try to remove the wireless usb device which your keyboard and mouse is connecting to, try to use another usb port from your computer.

second, your wireless device comes with a cd installer, try to reinstall the program of your wireless device

and then try again

My wireless mouse does not work on my laptop anymore, however works fine on my sons laptop. Whats the problem?

Refresh the USB ports:

Here is what you do:
1. Right click MY COMPUTER
2. Select PROPERTIES
3. Select HARDWARE
4. Select DEVICE MANAGER
5. Select UNIVERSAL SERIAL BUS CONTROLLERS
6. Right click on each USB CONTROLLER and select Uninstall
7. Uninstall all entries

9. As your computer re-boots it will reinstall all USB connections it detects
THEN, when all other USB items have been configured and connected by the system, you then should try connecting your USB wireless mouse.
