Freezes up good afternoon sir i purchased this unit a few years ago and i've been having the problem seens it was brand new. when i set it up it worked for about a week with no problems then all of a sudden it quit and everything freezes up. i thought maybe it was something that i had done when i set it up. once it freezes up i can undo it by unpluging the unit and pluging it back in and resetting it again or wait for about a week and it will start working by its self. have you any idea what i should do or if rca knows that they have this problem with their merchandise. thank you for any help you can give me rayt

is the compressor running if so it is out freoin or compressor is bad or want start may be relay compressor should start after the fan starts

It is had to give you any technical info without the model number of the unit but in most cases, if the unit is out of warranty and a inexpensive unit, it really isn't worth the cost to bring to a repair shop.

Today, you can purchase a Flat Screen TV for $100.00 the average repair cost will be that or close to it.

This has the earmarks of battery problem... Supposedly this uses a 9 volt battery... You CANNOT use rechargeable batteries in these as the actual voltage of the rechargeable is lower than alkaline and they will fail quickly and as they age you may get only seconds of operation. When they go off the battery will recover a bit and even look like it comes on again. Do NOT count on the battery LED to give actual answer. When you turn on the unit, read the battery voltage under load with a meter. It should be at least 8.5 volts. NEXT possibility: A chronic problem with body packs is the battery contacts. There is a fine line between having good contact and being able to get batteries out. I have seen where people stuff paper in to increase tension on the contacts.

A shorter time period could help also the brand name is in important, I ,ve found over the years that N.G.K. to be very good,also check the earth wire is clean and tight.

WOW! Firstly, Thank you for the very descriptive description. Secondly, This is a VERY specific issue! I believe that some of the COD issue is "game specific". Like the dialog issues and the lagging. I've seen MANY problems & complaints with COD games. Especially 4. These problems aren't going to go away or get better. But, I'm sure you know that. Since your console is out-of-warranty, I'd strongly recommend contacting "PSR Repairs" You can get a gangster deal on their work.
My console died 14 months after purchase. I bought the extended warranty through WalMart. It almost seems that PS3's run flawless for the year it's under manufactures warranty. Anyway, PSR fixed it. It took about a month, but I got a new hard drive & new Blu Ray lens. It lasted a week & developed a new issue; The picture would pixalate & then I'd get the Yellow Light Of Death! I sent it back for repair. Josh with PSR called to tell me that since the work was starting to surpass the value of the unit, Sony is going to send me a brand new (non-refurbished) unit!
So, my advice is to get your Babe over to PSR asap. www.psr1.com . There's really no other way to comfront all the issues you're having! Good luck!

There are DVD/VHS combo units that allow you to record VHS tapes onto DVDs. The price of these units range from about $150 up to $300+ depending on the quality of the brand you want. I have seen them on sale for less than $150, but you would need to look around for the sales. There is a problem with these units, however. Most newer VHS movies (and DVDs) are encoded for copyright protection and cannot be copied - unless you want to purchase a Descrambler. A Descrambler allows you to bypass the copyright codes and are to be used soley for the purpose of copying purchased movies. There are strict copyright laws as you have seen during the intro of VHS/DVD movies. If you intend to use the unit for copying things like TV shows, movies on cable, or home movies, then this would be a worthwhile purchase. I have just a standard Toshiba DVD burner and believe me, it gets a lot of use, mostly for TV shows on prime time TV. I work second shift and would miss out if I didn't have it. I can guarantee that you will get your moneys worth out of it. You can find them pretty much anywhere that sells electronics. As far as the Descrambler, I'm not sure they are carried in your local department store. The only ones that I have seen have been in magazine advertisements and once on The Home Shopping Network (HSN) and the price on there was around $100 - this was about 2 years ago. Without reading your specific warranty, your main warranty has probably expired, however, your compressor may still be under warranty. If the compressor is not the problem, then of course, that may not do you any good.

You will need your sales receipt most likely for warranty support.

If you have that info, visit the Maytag website, and info can be obtained about your specific warranty!

i would first check the lower units bake element , usually a visually inspection is enough to determine if its good or nor, usually a burn mark can be seen on the element itself, and if you can even see the element the bottom f the oven cavity will lift off for better inspection

It depends on what you mean by "a problem with the touch pad assembly".

If some or all keys do not respond, you would probably need a new keypad, but the key units for all Sharp R-9H-series models have been unavailable for a few years now.

These units did indeed last a long time.
