There are 3 screws along the bottom of the monitor, remove those along with any screws where the stand is attached. There are 2 slots on the bottom where the halves of the monitor come together; with a screw driver, you can use those for leverage. With another small screwdriver on the sides of the monitor where the front shiny cover, and the duller back case come together, pry the shiny piece away from the back cover and lift. It is a very tight snap fit, you have to go slow and coax it off. When you get the front cover started you can usually pull it off with your fingers by lifting up. Be very careful Of the front panel switch ribbon cable it is very easy to break. Hope this helps

Thank you for the response. I finally was able to remove it with a little difficultity. Yes, the ribbon cable is one to watch out for. Seems the front frame is groove locked with the back panel, and had to edge a screwdrive along the edges. They sure dont make it easy, hehe.

Who made Gateway LP2407 monitor please?

Question edited for clarity.

Made by Gateway in a factory in Taiwan, Korea, or China. It should be on the back label on the left side. It has a history of capacitor issues.

I'm having trouble with my Gateway monitor coming on model # LP2407

Steve
there are so many things that can go wrong, the best thing is to take/send to a professional , or i can take a look at it.
many repairs are the standard capacitor replacement, but many others should be done by someone that has a bit of background in electronics to test all the circuits. For more help i can be contacted at [email protected].
if you would like i can test the unit, at no cost to you, and give an estimate of repair cost once i have evaluated the condition of the unit.

How to open gateway FPD 1765 LCD CASE OR BACK COVER

At Last! Okay this is how you open a Gateway FPD 1765 monitor. This Monitor open from the front first to reveal 4 screw under the black trim. Lay the screen face up, NOT FACE Down. So that the GATEWAY LOGO is looking at you. Carefully, lift up the black plastic trim slide a knife or slim tool, or your fingers will do,lifting the trim up a off. BE CAREFUL NOT TO BREAK THE POWER BUTTON WIRES, near the power on button. Then remove the 4 screw holding the back cover on. When you remove these screw the monitor is free, but careful there are 2 set of thin short wires that need to be un plug. You should be able to go for there.

REPLACE GATEWAY LAP TOP TOUCH PAD

HI THERE!!

Replacing the touchpad of your laptop is not difficult but because laptop parts are very delicate you need to be careful

To remove the touchpad you need to remove the top cover, also known as the palm rest

1.Power off the Gateway laptop, then disconnect the AC adapter from the power jack. Remove any other devices connected to the laptop.

2.Place your hand on a bare metal surface to release any buildup of static electricity. Close the lid to your laptop and turn the computer over.

3.Slide the battery lock over to the side to pop the battery out from its compartment.

4.Set the battery aside, then turn your computer over once again so that it's facing up. Rotate the laptop so that the back (not the bottom) is facing you.

5.Remove the two screws securing the bezel in place from the back of the laptop

6. Open the lid to the laptop, then insert a flat-head screwdriver underneath one end of the bezel to loosen it from the top cover. The bezel is located just above the keyboard, but below the monitor

7. Carefully remove the bezel the rest of the way. Insert the end of the flat-head screwdriver underneath the top of the keyboard to pull it away from the laptop.

8. Turn the keyboard over and place it face-down on the top cover. Remove the cable connecting the keyboard to the motherboard. You may need to pull back and unlock a connector securing the cable in place.

9. Set the keyboard aside. Remove the four screws located just beneath the display panel, then remove the cable connecting the monitor to the motherboard. Carefully set the LCD display aside.

10. Remove the four screws located near the center of the top cover. Release small blue and white cable connecting the touchpad to the Gateway laptop.

11.Pull the top cover up from the base of the laptop, removing the touchpad along with it.

NOTE; you can remove your touchpad and swap it out with a new one, but you can also buy a top cover with a touchpad pre-installed.

I have a gateway lp2407 monitor and can not get a picture but the power is on. The blue display lights on the right side of the frame light up, then go away while the power button stays blue. Tried...

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.

I need to know how to get the bottom off my laptop so i can get to the power button and fix the sensor underneat it. i removed all the screws on the bottom yet it wont come off. myl aptop is a gateway...

the bottom doesn't come off......you have to remove the cover on the screen hinge and remove the keyboard and monitor to isolate the "bottom" of the unit. After you have removed the panel on the hinge, you can unscrew the keyboard and detach the screen. At this point the bottom can be removed by taking off the main boards and other connected components.

Removing cover

Firstly you have to take off two screws from the backside. Secondly: there are two holes on the upper side, you must press in with small screw driver(one by one ) and pull backcover back.
I hope this will help you.
