Question about Dell E173FP 17" LCD Flat Panel Monitor

1 Answer

Monitor display I had a hard drive crash recently, which resulted in my having to re-load all of my software. Since re-installation, my monitor is working, but when I drag a window, the window moves in what I would describe as "waves". It seems to "flow" across the screen instead of just moving across the screen. Does anyone know what I need to do to correct this?

You might want to check the refresh rate in your advanced settings under display properites. Under Windows it shouls be something like: Start Button > Settings > Control Panel > Display Then click on the Settings tab, and on that screen click Advanced On that screen, click on the Adapter tab. At that point, make sure the adapter listed matches yours, and refresh rate should probably set to adapter default. Hope that helps.

MSI P965 Pt Continually re-boots on start-up

You don't say exactly at what point in the boot sequence the system crashed and restarts. Many things could be at work here. You say you are using the HDD from the previous system. Did you swap this drive straight out and are still using the OS load from the previous system? Windows loads drivers at startup based upon the hardware installed. If you are using and old WIndows load with a new mainboard, this could be the entire cause of your crashes. YOu may be able to get to SAGE mode and remove the old drivers and try to restart the system, but from experience I will tell you that to get the best results when installing a new mainboard, you should reload the OS from the original OS disk, and then load the new mainboard drivers.

2005 Dell Inspiron 6000, I need to reload the operating software, my hard drive crashed and I have a new hard drive I am going to install. How do I go about loading in the software??

If you have your windows disc, go into your bios. Make sure your disc drive is the FIRST BOOT DEVICE. Then restart your pc and it should load from the cd.

AcerPower 1000 -- VERY slow loading

Your potential problem might be a virus. If you are having an updated anti-virus software and are running regular scans and found nothing, Then this might be the problem, while making the system get restored, the frequent problem is that, xp doesn't load the drivers which you installed for your system and it loads its own drives (which sometimes won't go with your devices). Try installing the drivers (especially display and motherboard drivers). If this doesn't work, I better suggest that you do a complete format of the system and install windows xp afresh.. Then there should be no problem. These're the possible solutions which i can infer from the details you've given..

Winxp with serv pak 3 crashes when installing konica minolta pagepro 1350w

It must be because the software is not compatible with SP3; I've seen this a few times already. Does the Dell have SP3 installed? If not, I dare say that is the issue.

Thanks and please take a moment to rate as fixya.

Can not load f1903 software on microsoft xp system

This has nothing to do with your monitor. Windows has default drivers that will be installed for that.
The problem will be your video card drivers are not installed.
Get the right drivers for your card, install them and you should be away.

It is highly unlikely its a crash......two operating systems cannot....CANNOT crash similtaneously. Its impossible! unless the hard drive you run both on is faulty BUT you wouldnt get Windows to load. Not even for a bit....you say all lights will stay if they were lit up but they some how dont stay on.........I think thats what you mean.........then you say you checked again and there were rectangles that look like a book that stopped blinking yet the power lite stayed on....Im at a lost But I dont think its a crash......only software crash it might be a hardware pronlem....

MONITOR GOES BLANK

Did you recently change or install a program that would affect the resolution and card output? Try booting into safe mode by holding the "shift" key during boot. From there right-click on the desktop and hit 'properties'-> 'display properties' -> 'settings' , check your resolution and drop it to 800x600 and then reboot. If everything goes back in normally make sure you have the right windows drivers for your video card. You can also check the driver version and settings while you're in safe mode. Sometimes the windows update drivers can act screwy and I would recommend getting them directly from your card manufacturer.
