SOURCE: card not initialized

Kyle850. I have a fujifilm finepix camera myself, and just recently had the same problem. The camera worked fine until one day I turned it on to take a picture and there was the "card not initialized" message. To fix the problem, just turn on your camera, push the menu button and use the right/left arrow buttons near the zoom button in the top left corner of the camera. Push the right arrow button until you come to the "option" window in the camera's view finder and use the "up" function of the zoom to highlight the "set-up" window. Press "ok", and use the right arrow button scoll over to the "2" tab and press the ok button again. Then use the "up/down" function of the zoom button to scroll down to the "format" tab. Press ok button again and use the "left" button near the zoom in and out button to highlight the "ok" option in the format window. By pressing the ok button here, it will reformat and reinitialize your picture card. If you do have pics already on your pic card, you may want to take your pic card to a photo center and see about recovering these pics before you go through the reformat process because there is a good chance that when you reformat your pic disk any pics on it will be gone. Good luck. SG

SOURCE: FinePix Image Memory Card reader DPC-R1

Usually the filename is how they are sorted, i.e., 001.jpg, 002.jpg, 003.jpg.... Check on the camera's setup menu to see what method is being used for file naming (for instance, it may be organizing based on date stamp, instead...).

SOURCE: Fujifilm FinePix Z20fd protected card??

The memory card should have a little switch on it, try it in the other position. It is a safety lock to stop it getting wiped.

SOURCE: how to transfer internal images to sd card?

Put memory card in camera, power up, go to menu and find copy option, select it and press ok.
That will copy picture files from internal memory to memory card.

Can a Camera's Factory-Delivered XD Memory Card Limit Be Upgraded from 1 GB to 2 GB.

there is unfortunately no (easy) way to upgrade something like that...you'd probably have to actually tear it apart. but, maybe fujifilm might have released a firmware update to fix that problem *not that they would* but you could try plugging in the camera to your computer and try downloading firmware for it, they should have it on the website.
