When I turn the machine on the start button flashes green 6 times and then red 8 times and will not start. please help
Take a look at this page.

hi follow this
Step 1: Unplug the washer. To access the timer, remove the control knobs and the panel that covers the controls. This may be a front panel, or access may be through a panel at the back of the unit. Carefully examine the wires that connect the timer to the other parts of the washer. If the wires are loose or disconnected, try pushing them into position; they usually fit into their terminals like plugs. Use long-nosed pliers to avoid breaking the wire connections -- never pull a wire by handStep 2: To test the timer, use a VOM set to the RX1 scale. Disconnect the power leads to the timer and clip one probe of the VOM to each lead. The VOM should read zero if the timer is working. Since the timer is a multiple switch, turn it through its cycle and test each pair of terminals in turn. The meter should read zero at all of these points. If one or more readings are above zero, the timer is faulty and should be replaced.
Step 3: To replace the timer, unscrew and disconnect the old one. Install a new timer made specifically for the washing machine. If there are many wires on the timer, have a helper hold the new timer next to the old one as you work. Disconnect the old wires one at a time, connecting each corresponding new wire as you work, to make sure the connections are properly made. Or, draw a diagram showing the connections before removing the old timer. After all the wires are connected, check the connections again for correctness and screw the timer assembly into place.
thank u.......................

Try to pull out the power-cable from the contact. Wait for at least 30 seconds then reconect it again.
Sometimes that can help but not always. If that dosent help you need to let a profesional repairshop fix your machine.
Good luck

pcb as the signs were that the pcb was stuck in a programme and unable to change. Anyway, long story short, to fix it:
Take the lid off the washing machine (2 screws at the back) *unplug first
Locate the pcb, unscrew and lift above the washing machine with all wires in tact.
Locate the wires that are coming out of the back of the "program" board, it should be 2 blue wires.
Follow these back to the pcb and unplug
plug in washing machine
Turn on washing machine
Only the on/off light should come on
Whilst on, and being careful, plug back in the wires you unplugged
VOILA, fixed washing machine!!
Right, have to go, got a weeks worth of washing to do!!!!

Hello,
If I am correct and 3 red flashes and 1 green then that is E31 which is normally a heater fault but can also be a faulty pressure switch or main programmer. This machine is covered by the 5 year major parts warranty.Does not cover the heater and it is normally the heater for that code. You can either get an Electrolux engineer to call out or your local service guy but be warned that only genuine heaters can be used on these machines they have safe fail fuse links in these elements.
Hope this was helpful.
