SOURCE: Toshiba TV Combo MW24FP1, DVD player doesn't work on some discs

This is a common problem for all combo units. The high voltage of the TV section attracts large amounts of particulate dust from the air and often it collects inside the DVD unit. The best way to deal with this is to clean the lens of the DVD unit u sing a cotton swab and alcohol. The store bought "cleaners" MAY work, but that is rare. These cleaners are nothing but small brushes embedded into a disc. They attempt to brush off hte dust. This rarely works. Open up the unit (if you feel comfortabel in doing so) to access the DVD section. Remove the top cover and carefully clean the lens. That should resolve the problem.

SOURCE: toshiba 13' tv dvd combo, Fios remote control need code

Greetings!

Here are the codes: take a deep breath:

0181, 1283, 0183, 1292, 0087, 0677, 0859, 0872, 1183, 1383, 1683, 1731

You may find that these don't work. Often, with combination pieces like yours, you will find you are lucky if you can get a universal remote to turn it on and change the volume and little more. The fact that Toshiba did not build this peice can compound the problem. My suggestion, if you can't get the universal to program up, is to use the original remote for the set. If you do not have the original remote it is available from www.encompassparts.com for around $15.00 plus shipping. The original part number for the Toshiba remote is 72796929.

Good luck!
Rob

SOURCE: Need to replace DVD unit of 27hlv toshiba combo

The DVD drive on that unit will probably no longer be available for replacement from manufacturer but you can usually find a good working drive on Ebay at a reasonable price. just type in model number and see if one comes up. Another place to check would be shopjimmy.com

We have a 23" Toshiba with a internal DVD player.

No,tv internal DVD player are not on sale by itself as a seperate unit, only can buy it from the tv corporations themselves and it not cheap and have to have experience to putting it in into the tv internal tv itself. The tv internal DVD player now, could be the laser eye data reader have problems reading mp3 and mp4 files on the DVD disc, which are video files. Now tries to play more than one DVD movies dic, tries like to play like 5 to 6 original DVD movies. One disc don't play tries another DVD disc.Tries this might forcing the laser eye reader to read DVD dics again and than might fix it to read video files again.Or just buy an external DVD player hook it up to the tv and play DVD disc on to the tv video modes.DVD players external devices are really cheap these day, like can buy new one for $40.

Cant Power up/down. DVD player wont work

You can try leaving the television unpluged for a couple of days and see if letting the circuits completely discharge will let the television reset itself to normal operation. You can also call Toshiba customer support and ask them if this problem is common and if there is a simple solution. The customer service telephone number is 1-800-631-3811. Give them the model number of your television and they will help you. I hope this information help you with your problem.

DVD player keeps skipping and gets very blocky looking and then sometimes it just stops I tried cleaning both the lenses of the dvd player with dvd lens cleaner disc and cleaning the dvds nothing seems too...

It sounds like the problem is with the DVD's you've been playing. I've gotten those problems before, but not on every DVD. How many different ones did you try playing?
