When the camera is powered on the LCD viewfinder turns white. But the camera functions normal. Can take photographs, save the photos, retrieve them. But since the viewfinder is complete white, you have to take the photos blindly. after some times the LCD went black. Now the camera is on without LCD. Please help. Chandana
I am from sri lanka and bought the camera from korea. There is no way that I can send it back to korea. The local agent for sony refused to repair it fearing that they would not have spare parts. Therefore will you please send me a repair manual for me to try out to open the camera and see. Now the camera is in a state that with even a fully charged battery, does not power up. Battery shows 4 v on multimeter when measured. I am very poor guy to opt for a new one. please help. chandana
This is an LCD fault - initially I suspect a connector failed or loosened to the main board now the tube has blown or become disconnected too. What to do- If it is a new camera, you may be able to get it replaced under warranty - I cannot say more then that as you did not specify where in the world you reside. If you have a repair facility near by- then that's the place to go. If non of there are available to you then you have little to lose in opening the camera to see it is is indeed screen connectors- because the alternative is to purchase a new camera.
