The cleaning solution is simply denatured alcohol (alcohol with ALL water removed) with colorant and scent added.

The top will not stay down for charging

This is a common problem with the clean/charge base for model 7526. The mechanism inside is broken. You can replace the upper housing that includes the locking arm or you can replace the whole system. Both options are available at shaveroutlet.com. See links below

My Braun 7526 will no longer clip into the razor for cleaning and charging.

If the arm on the charging stand no longer locks down into place to charge the shaver, you will need to replace the arm or you can replace the entire charging unit. You will find both items at shaveroutlet.com. I have a Braun model 7526 shaver and the batteries need to be replaced. I just ordered them and they come together on the circuit board. I'd like instructions on how to open the shaver's case and replace...

You will need to first remove the 'cap' on the bottom of the shaver. This is a piece of plastic that surround the hole on the bottom of the shaver where the cord plugs in. Gently pry it off with a small flat screwdriver or similar object. Once removed, the side grips will simply pull off revealing 4 screws on the back. Remove screws to remove the back cover.
From there it is a piece of cake. The internal components simply lift out.
Put it back together in reverse order

My 7526 won't clean cycle

It is probably plugged up at the base. Take the cartridge out and turn it upside down> next clean the openings with a cotton swab< it make take a while as it can get gummy> That should fix the problem
