Shortly after this happened to me, the whole faceplate stopped lighting up. Then all buttons but the power button worked. From what I'm seeing I feel that this is from bad capacitor, but I don't have the time to rip it apart right now. Till then, it's a cheap Alpine MP3 player.
, the message you are getting is "amp guard". This is the mesage it will
display when a short in a speaker wire or speaker with low impedence is
hooked to the internal amp and sends it into protect mode, shutting
down the amplifier section while the rest of the unit continues to work.

and the audio only should be that your handbrake is not up or check the grass green wire connect it to ground and this will allow you too watch dvd's whilst u drive
