I have an HP 2200d laser printer that does not print the lowercase letter "f" in MS word and Notepad. All the other letters print ok. I have downloaded the latest driver from the hp website. Does anyone have any ideas why it's not printing lowercase "f". Is this a hardware or software problem?
I've notice that only certain fonts are affected by this problem. Weird?

Be sure when you print under MS word that you have the correct printer selected in the drop down menu. There will be a menu with a choice between something like "Microsoft Image Writer" and your actual printer, ensure the actual printer is selected.
The Laser Scanners go out in the 2200/2300. Based on the noise you describe, high pitched screech, the laser scanner needs replacing. However, if you push the large go button, you will get a secondary light code that will tell you specifically the problem and then go google the secondary error light pattern for 2200's.. Good luck
This shadow, or backgrounding, is generally caused by excess debris remaining on the drum. This is mostly caused by the wiper blade not dislodging all the waste toner. You will need to replace the cartridge (C4096A).
