Question about HP LaserJet 2200D Printer

Does not print lowercase "f"

I have an HP 2200d laser printer that does not print the lowercase letter "f" in MS word and Notepad. All the other letters print ok. I have downloaded the latest driver from the hp website. Do anyone have any ideas why it's not printing lowercase "f". Is this a hardware or software problem?

This is definitely a software problem. Or pssibly a keyboard problem. Not as printer or driver issue.

Be sure when you print under MS word that you have the correct printer selected in the drop down menu. There will be a menu with a choice between something like "Microsoft Image Writer" and your actual printer, ensure the actual printer is selected.

The Laser Scanners go out in the 2200/2300. Based on the noise you describe, high pitched screech, the laser scanner needs replacing. However, if you push the large go button, you will get a secondary light code that will tell you specifically the problem and then go google the secondary error light pattern for 2200's.. Good luck

HP2200D printer missing disc need to install

See if you can download the driver FREE from the HP website. Search for your model. If you are on Vista, it may NOT support the older printers.

If not, try driverguide.com. The latter you have to sign up for but it is free.

Garbage printing

Hold both buttons while powering on the printer. Hold them both for a least 20 seconds and release. When trouble-shooting fails, sometimes the NVRAM can be the reason for the strange behaviors.

Shadow print from 2200d laser printer

This shadow, or backgrounding, is generally caused by excess debris remaining on the drum. This is mostly caused by the wiper blade not dislodging all the waste toner. You will need to replace the cartridge (C4096A).

Printer problem

Try replacing your laser unit. They are known to make a high pitch sound when they go bad.

Does not printer lowercase letter "f"

Do you have another computer to connect this printer to in order to try and recreate this issue? It may help determine if the issue is the printer itself.
