hi, make sure the cooling fan is working, if it doesn't the console shuts down itself to preotect the system, you can get your ear really close to the fan and listen to see if it makes any noise, check it often because sometimes it doesn't kick on till the console is getting hot, if you can't hear the fan running it could be your problem.....
Did you check to see if you have power or fuse blown? If it is a furnace/ air handler and you are comfortable with electricity. Turn
Power off, remove blower door. Find where thermostat wires come into the control board and remove them. If you can find a jumper wire or aligator clips, hook them between R and G. Put blower
door back on and turn on power,
Fan should come on right away, if it does you might have a thermostat problem. If nothing happens but you can hear it hum
or hear nothing at all. Then more than likely the capacitor is bad and or the motor is bad.
Green light indicates the monitor is getting power. Nothing coming up on the screen indicates, No Signal.
No signal from the computer. This means the computer itself isn't working.
A bad power supply in the computer can cause this. A bad power supply is the leading cause of desktop computer failure. It is replaceable, and can be done by the owner relatively easy.
You may have a computer tower that the Power light comes on, you hear fan/s spinning, (Including the Power Supply fan), and it sounds like the harddrive is running.
ALL the lights in your computer use less than 1 Watt. EACH fan uses 2 to 3 Watts. A harddrive sitting there spinning in an endless loop, consumes about 2 to 3 Watts.
A Processor uses 51 to 125 Watts. Depends on what Processor it is.
A weak Power Supply will have enough power for lights, fans, and that harddrive sitting there spinning. It won't have enough power to turn on the Processor.
[No processor operating, then the harddrive sits there spinning in an endless loop, because there is no processor to find the boot sector]
For a test, connect your monitor to a know good computer. See if it works. Now connect that other monitor to your computer.
this sounds like the AC compressor is failing, the engine idles slower in drive so noise is more apparent. you are likely going to need to replace it soon.
Believe it or not, it's due to a weak power supply. More specifically, weak voltage rail/s caused by failing Electrolytic Capacitors.
A bad computer power supply is about 70% of computer failure.
ALL the light use less than 1 Watt. EACH fan uses 2 to 3 Watts.
A processor uses 55 to 125 Watts. Depends on the make and model.
Since the power supply is weak, it doesn't have enough power to turn the processor on. No processor, nothing to find the Boot record on the harddrive. Nothing to get the Operating System going. (Example: Windows XP)
No computer running, there is no signal to the monitor. Just enough power to light lights, and spin fans.
It is likely your power supply is failing. When you press your power button a signal goes through the motherboard to the power supply, then the PS comes on. I would try a replacement power supply first, you can get a used one for less than $20.
