Upper (gray) fuser roller needs replacing, (tear on 1 side).

Hello,

I have a Canon PC-6RE Copier, yes, its old and its like a old friend, yes, yes, its old and discontinued, so what, its still works and still copies. the copier is making a vertical line and its the upper fuser roller, i can see it, it has a tear on 1 side, and that was caused by using the copier when the toner cartriage has gone dry and that long cotton brush that goes on top of the upper fuser roller was very dirty. Now, is that upper fuser roller easy to replace? I can use some help, i am a good self starter, i can get the part, just need some help. thx u.

If you are handy it is not hard to replace the upper fuser roller you will need a small phillips screwdriver and pliars

the fuser lamp goes through the fuser roler so youmust disconnect the power leads to the lamp and remove the lamp

You do have to release the back side of the drive
gear on the fuser roller

when you install the new roller be sure to put some silicone fuser oil on the cleaning pad

take your time good luck

to remo, ve the fuser roller open all doors and if copier is **** shell design open up like you clear a jam

remove plastic back, plastic area where seperation fingers are located, remove pad and anything that holds the fuser roller
down on top of other roller

there is a company called katun corp out of canada that supplies fuser rollers and they supply wholesale I am not sure you can purchase from them direct contact the local canon dealer or a copier repair firm and et a price from them for fuser roller and oil( fuser oil is basicly silicone oil hgh temp

make a diagram of the fuser assembly before you remove so you can reassemble do not put your fingers on the glas heater lamps the oil from your hands will cause it to get real hot and burn out
handle fuser lamps by the ends(ceramic tips

    good luck
