Question about Maytag MER5775Q Electric Kitchen Range
I have a Maytag MER5775Q Electric Kitchen Range. Everything on the range operate properly except for the oven. While it does get warm, the highest degree of heat that I have seen it obtain is 200 degrees when the temp was set to 350. I originally thought it was the heating coil, but I was told that if it was the heating coil, the heat would not work at all. Does anyone have any suggestion on how I might fix this problem? Thanx
In the Maytag Mer5775 series, if the thermostat proves not to be causing the problem, then It most likely is caused by a defect in the clock. It totally suprised me when I found out that since the clock got knocked out by a loose wire that sparked and shorted it out; the oven on my newly installed Mer5775BAB will not work at all. The range top works, but the oven will not work until the clock is replaced. The service man ordered a new clock 7 days ago from Maytag and it still has not arrived yet, I was told it possibly could even take another whole week.

Heating elements are usually good or failed with nothing between so unlikely to be the element. problem probably lies with the thermostat. to check, bypass the thermostat and check the oven gets really hot.

I really appreciate you taking the time to try and help. I did a little more looking myself and noticed a build up on the element. When I tried to clean it off the element broke. I just got back home with the new element, and will install it soon. Again, Thank You.

my oven takes 2 hours to heat i think it is the same problem...top element..{broil element} is only way to heat oven.....after biscuits were done the bottom of biscuit was not discolored as previous cooking experience. no heat from bottom of oven could cause slow preheat.. and no crisping on bottom of biscuit shows only top element was on .. as top of biscuit turned brown...does anyone want to try to help me figure how to test elements...not sure about bypassing thermostat...all other features work fine.

Since the day purchased our Samsung Range does not heat to the temperature set. Often it reaches a certain temp and quits. Other times it says 400, but is only at 250. I've tried everything and nothing works. Samsung states that they have never gotten a complaint like this, but the internet tells a different story. Closest tech is across the country. How can I fix this
When the oven says its 400 degrees its still actually 300 degrees.
we thought the element went out bought another one it heats at 350 then only stays warm
