Question about IBM ThinkPad T21 Notebook
Sounds like it is asking for the power supply to be plugged in before it can start, which indicates a bad Battery, if you are allready plugging in the power supply unit, you may also have a bad or wrong power supply unit,(check that it is set too the correct voltage setting for your country too either 120V or 240V.) Possibly you know someone with the same working laptop so this can be verified by using thier working Battery/powersupply unit or as an alternative can both your battery and power supply unit be taken to a computer or electronics outlet store for simple bench testing before deciding on replacement. Lastly it may be a powersave mode or setting that has been activated before the last shutdown in this case press and hold the power on switch down, until all the lights go out. Leave it turned off for 30 seconds and restart. Press the esc or delete button on startup (before any screen info comes up)and adjust the power save mode setting in this systems bios.
