When I use the Preheat function for the convection mode of my Sharp R-1870 microwave/convection oven, the temperature doesn't reach the chosen temperature setting. For instance, if I set the oven for 400 degrees, it will only heat to 350 degrees. There is always a 50 degree difference. I want to know how to fix this problem.

I would first suspect the thermister (thermistor) or a low line voltage, weak control board relay etc.
But the service manuals will show you how to safely disassemble, test and repair the unit.
