Well, my problem is that i can't rename my pictures in my computer. (It is a windows Xp) Everytime I try to rename a picture, a message saying the following, appears:
"If you change a file name extension, the file may become unusable.
Are you sure you want to change it?"
And I always answer " no " and i don't know what to do to change the name of my pictures because if i click "yes" the file can not be opened later and becomes trash.
Any answers will be helpful. Thanks!
If your afraid to click yes, copy another image of the file and rename it by clicking yes, you'll be sure you wont lose the original file. read-only file are the ones that warn you this message, you may change its properties to archive.

Yes you can, and I do it all the time. I copy the pictures to "My Pictures" folder. If you OPEN the DCIM folder by clicking on it, then SELECT ALL, then choose copy. Now close your camera folder. and OPEN "My Pictures" and then choose PASTE, all your pics should be inserted into "MY PICTURES". The reason your pics are deleted even after you've renamed them is because your OS is only copying them as shortcuts. If you don't want to copy or paste, next time you try to save one of your pics, hold down the shift key while dragging your pic to your folder and it won't move it as a shortcut. Hope this helps.
I think Photoshop renamed all pictures using the wrong extension. If you can open images with Windows Fax Viewer, they should work in Photoshop too. Check the extension of the photos, they should be JPEG with a .jpg extension. If not, try to rename them using the .jpg at end of the file name. I would be very surprised if Photoshop cannot recognize photos that Windows can. Tell me if this works because ther is another way but I need to know what extension it is currently.
The following advice is not specific to your model, but you have a common problem and the solution I suggest usually works for most makes and models.
Try renaming the files in the order you wish them to play as 001, 002, etc. If you do so without the leading zeroes then on some models of picture frames the filing system gets the images in the wrong order. Note that if you are uploading thousands of images then you may wish to start the numbering at 0001 instead. After renaming the files, re-upload them to the photo frame and you should find that they're OK. Depending upon your host computer's operating sytem you should be able to batch rename the files instead of laboriously renaming and saving each one individually.
Try using a separate card reader to download your pictures to a folder you create on your desktop. Then you can carefully rename the ones that the computer thinks are duplicates and then move them to their final destination. Your camera is obviously creating new folders but not continuing the sequence of numbers on the photos. You might want to e-mail one of Kodak's tech people with your problem to see if they've come up with a work-around.
you r retarded. u have to go to windows the transfer files select external devices, plug ur camera in then it shuld notice ur camera, then extract allk the pictures from the camerial surface directly onto your album in your camera.
This is one of those "it depends" kind of answers. I'll assume that you have copied the picture files from the camera to your computer. If not, let me know and I'll help you through that -- while possible to rename the files when they are on the camera (actually on the "compact flash" memory card), it's not a great idea.
So the pictures are in a folder somewhere on your computer, probably "My Pictures" if you're using Windows, and somewhere similarly named if you use a Mac. On windows open My Pictures, and click the filename (IMG_XXXX) once, then once again and you should be able to type a new name. On Mac, use Finder to locate the file, click it, and select Edit > Rename.
That's the hard way. Chances are you are using some program to help manage the images -- to import them from the camera, to edit them and so on. If you're using the Canon software, forget it -- use Picasa (free from Google at picasa.google.com) on Windows, or iPhoto on Mac (there's a Picasa version coming for Mac soon -- it's awesome). Once in Picasa or iPhoto, renaming should be pretty obvious.
The trick to remember is: the pictures are pretty much just regular computer files like word processor documents or similar -- you can rename them probably in a similar way that you do with other files.
Is there enough memory left on the phone to store pictures? Most phones have a pretty small memory availability without a memory card. If this is not the case, check the options when you turn on the camera function. There may be a setting in there that needs toggled.
