Hi
I just started having a problem with a curved blue shadow
along the top of the screen and a blue shadow beneath every
image
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Steve

This is the typical convergence failure you can read about over and over on this website. It will take a couple of STK amp IC's maybe a resistor or 2. if you don't solder well don't try it. It should cost you a couple hundred bucks if you take it in maybe three in your home

Tv have a problems known as a convergence problems,it is dead. The tv convergence board it is dead, that why ur tv picture are R,G,B colors lines mis alignments, have colors shadows picture or 3D picture lood alike? The tv convergence board require changes 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors too.To fixed the tv convergence board to solved the tv convergence picture problems. The shop will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.
Hi Thanks for using FixYa. First of all please check whether all the cables from your dish network are fine and connected firmly. If yes then you'll need to pull off the front of the TV, behind the speaker grill there would be a panel. Remove the panel and check for a black box hanging over there. It has 6 controls on it, 3 are marked as focus and 3 as screen. You'll need to adjust the screen. If you turn these too high you can damage the tube. So you need to do only a small adjustment. Turn the color off on the TV and adjust the red, blue & green controls up till you get a fine picture. Also adjust the focus until you get a clear picture. And, if it doesn't resolve your issue then it is an intermittent blue picture tube, a bad blue driver transistor on the CRT board, a bad connection on the blue CRT board or a problem in the RGB coming from the video jungle IC.The price to resolve the issue will most likely run you about 300 to 500 bucks, unless it is the picture tube. Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance. Thanks Rylee
If the entire screen is curved, and it is not taking the whole screen, then you have a vertical deflection problem.
If the colors are double and do not match, with lines of different colors around pictures , then you have a convergence problem, often caused by a faulty convergence board.
The curving effect can be a side effect of bad convergence, or you may have both problems at once.
Unless you are a TV repairer yourself, better calling technical support. Usually you can ring the number listed on the owner manual.
Hi, Seems convergence out IC is fried in TV so it gives blue shadow.
Check out Convergence Out IC which you need to replace in TV, if you have enough experience of repair of big TV, necessary tools and know basic electronics.
if the tv has a portal on the side open it up and make sure the screen is not out of it's track, don't set anything on top of the set it could make it happen also
