My tower fan won't stop squeaking and I am not sure how to fix it.

No matter the speed, the fan will squeak very annoyingly. I can't seem to open up the fan very easily either.

SOURCE: Squeak in aloha breeze tower fan model 05538

If the model is equipped with a fan, and the noise occurs even when not oscillating it must be a fan/blower motor. If it is a squeak. A squeal could be an electical component going bad which is always bad. I would definitely take some bottom drawer tools , ie. screwdrivers and WD-40 and oil that squeaking motor. Being a fan it goes through alot of air pollutants. That tends to build up on the shaft and can work its way into the bearing seal. Good luck.

SOURCE: how to stop squeaking noise

usually these units have very inexpensive sleeve bearings that require little maintenance. Have you tried squirting a little WD-40 on the bearings?

I just bought the Honeywell Quietset 8-Speed tower fan (black and silver on top). I installed it correctly but the fan is extremely loud and squeaky and can hear the inside pole that rotates the fan, even...

STOP! Before you take anything apart, turn fan upside down and find the large plastic "screw"(cord passes through it)that secures the fan to the pedestal. Is same color as unit. Loosen it and see if squeaking stops. Worked for me!

Mine was driving me nuts and I was prepared to return it to store.

The cord has a fuse at the plug. Check the fuse it could be blown. To access the fuse there is a slide open door that is about 1" x 1/4" on either top or bottom of the actual plug.

There are two small fans on in the ceiling. A small round vent on the driver's side in the back, and one in the front by the driver. It is loud and squeaking and won't turn off. What are these...

{: ) They are called the inside air temperature sensors. The HVAC module on your vehicle monitors the feedback from these sensors and helps regulate the climate comfort inside the vehicle according to your preferred settings. Yes it has this tiny fan inside, and if the noise is loud and annoying to you, the only fix is to replace it.

I'm getting a squeaking noise from my Windchaser WCUFLTI fan when it stands upright. If I lean it against the wall, the noise stops. I'm in the process of dismantling it, but can't get the back cover off....

Not sure on the squeaking. Mines squeak to on the low and medium speed, but not on high speed. As for the cover, remove the three 'visible' screws. There are two screws in the handle, but you have to remove the plugs that are hidding the screws. Use a thin flat blade screw driver to pry the plugs. Then, the screws will be visible for removal.

Once the all the screws are off from the back cover, using a flat screw driver depress the tab above the handle; then, gently '****' downwardly (assuming the fan is standing) to remove the back cover.

Rollers squeak.

This probably means the rollers are getting slick and a little glazed. Dell printers seem prone to this. It's harmless unless it is the primary (big) rollers that push the paper up into the toner drum. See my advice to the paper jam question for fixing that.
