After every other sent text message or so, my lg env just shuts off. It works fine otherwise...I think lol. But, after every other text message is sent, it immediatley just shuts off. Doesn't power down, just turns off.
I have a similar problem with this junk phone, but mine does it when I am texting, using the internet, and playing games. Oh and sometimes it just does it randomly sitting on a table or in my pocket.

Same problem here...the phone works fine otherwise, and it isn't just me, my husband's phone does the same thing. We both have Env's. We have such busy lives that we haven't gone to Verizon to fix it or exchange it or whatever, we have the insurance policy on both phones so we know it wouldn't be a prob.
I know that this is a common problem with this phone...PAIN IN THE ****!!!

I have the same problem on my daughters and husbands phone. I took it into Verizon before the warranty went out and they said they could not do anything unless it shut down right there in the store. After another month of it shutting down, I took it back into the store and VZ said it was out of warranty now (by 10 days) and I would have to pay the 50.00. I have been unable to find anyone that can fix this problem.I have the same problem on my daughters and husbands phone. So, This Isn't Really And Uncommon Problem With This Phone, Mine Does It Whenever i Put It In My Pocket, The Best Thing To Do For This Is To Take It In To Where It Was Purchased And Report The Problem, Thats What I Did And I Got A New One Free Of Charge Due To Faulty Manufacturing.

i had the same issue with picture messenging and texting when i first got my env on cricket! i went to the cricket store and they reprogrammed it and its worked since!
Sounds like you have a bad unit ir one with the original software. look on the "about" icon or the menu and see if you can find the version of phone / software load. It may also be behind the battery. Google that version and see if anyone else has had those issues. I dont know how long you have had it, I always wait for a few months after they announce new phones, til the figure the bugs out of them...
My EnV does that too, (on msn messenger). It gets very annoying, but I have not found a solution, I just learn to deal with it :(. I'm not really a big fan of verizon though, as soon as my contract is up I'm GONE!
RETURN IT! GET A BRAND NEW PHONE THE ENV'S ARE A PROBLEM. BELIEVE ME I AM ON MY 3RD ENV THE ORANGE ONE. BUT MINE DID THAT TOO AND THATS WHY I SENT IT BACK AND GOT A 3RD ONE AND THIS IS MESSING UP AND JUST GOT THE PHONE YESTERDAY.
My Orange LG enV that I got back in September started doing the same thing. I took it in and had them update it and everything, but it still did the same thing. Eventually I took it back to my local store and they sent me a new one in the mail.
You pressed the space button while in a message.... Hit the space button again when your in a message and it should shut off "audible text" where it reads you your text messages. (you'll notice the guys head on the space button)
right, but the problem is, I bought it second hand...so that's not an option
