Bought an Akai 32" HDready flat screen beginning of year. Worked fine until this morning it would not turn on. Has a faint buzzing sound when I try. Comes on for a split second then turns off again. Can you help?

The problem is the electrolytic caps in the switch mode power supply. They are located on the output side of the supply board. You can tell which ones are bad by the "bulge" on the top of each cap. All need to be replaced..

My 32" Akai did the same thing. It was working fine, I tried everything but nothing worked. Took it to a reapairman and it was the power supply. He said that they were very known to have this problem. I had the system attached to a UPS battery backup and it made not difference.
My 32" hyundai LCD TV will not turn on. The power lead is ok the on / off switch on the side turns the red stand by light on and off. I am unable to get the LCD TV off stand by. I have tried the the stand by button and this does not do anything. Can anybody help.
