Your hold button slide has slipped from underneath the switch or the switch itself has come desoldered. If you are out of warranty, try
removing the srews that hold the case on and carefully attempt to realign the switch slde with the tip if the switch. If this dosen't work you may have a soldering problem and this job is really tiny. Good luck.

hold the back button and the up button until you see the Zune logo then release. if this doesnt work then you are going to have to reset your Zune....however this will loose all the data on the zune so your music/movies will be completely gone. you are going to need to press and hold the back and up button until the zune logo appears then hold the back,play/pause, and the center button until you see "please wait"
1.download the firmware from here2.press and hold reset button for 2 seconds 3.run the firmware updater 4.press and hold "volume -" button while connecting to system. 5.the updater will detect the player and it will upgrade the firmware.
What I did for mine was just reset it. Hold down the big round center button and the start button at the same time for at least 20 seconds. It will turn off, then try turning it back on and see what it does. Mine is working fine again (the "key locked" message just meant that I had the hold button on! woops.)
If you look on the left side of the e130, there is a slide switch. Slide that switch up, that is your hold switch. In order to get your player powered on, you have to have it out of the key hold function. Now after you get to playing the music you want to hear, then you can reactivate the key hold. However, this will disable you from turning the volume up or down, or skipping through the songs. In order to be able to do this, then simply turn off the key hold again by sliding it down. I hope this helps!
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard
You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool.
- Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds) - Slide the hold switch into "hold" position. - Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer.
Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted.
