Question about Kenmore 46462 Front Load Washer
My Kenmore HE2 is just 14 months old. It worked fine until yesterday. Now when it is started at whatever cycle selection, it just drains without stopping even though there is no water inside. The stage indication lights - Add garnment and Door locked are on but the drain light is off. Would anyone be kind enough to enlighten me as to how to fix it? Many Thanks
Is your drain pump constantly running? If it isn't, check the standpipe (drain pipe) and make sure you don't have your drain hose shoved down in the pipe too far or the top sealed off. The stand pipe needs an air gap to properly drain, or it can siphon water from the wash tub. Symptom: Washer continually tries to fill or slow fills, but water won't stay in wash tub. Double check your drain line to be sure. It could be a simple fix.

Thank jsrock516 for the response.
Thinking that it was a control unit problem, I bought a new microcomputer but the new unit did not help!
While perplexing, I then disconnected the harness from the water level pressure sensor. The machine stopped the draining action. It was a faulty pressure sensor with pin 21 came in contact with pin 24 when not pressurised. I took the sensor apart and adjusted the contacts. Now everything goes fine.
I should have adhered to the instruction. Only replace the system unit as the last resort. It is an expensive lesson.
During the washing cycle the washer stopped with water still in the machine. All the lights were blinking on the cycle and the door would remain locked. When trying to start it again there was an agitating sound that did not seem to have the washer finish the load. Was finally able to get the door open and out came some water. Quickly shut the door. A power outage helped restart the machine. I then turned the washer to quick cycle, however the washer made the same agitating noise and did not work. We have had this washer almost two years.
