Have 7 tower DVD Duplicator that will not consistently play and record DVDs. Sometimes ok. Other times gives error message on track 4 or 5 on "Source Disk." All intended copies are ruined and will not copy, showing "target Disk Error."
We can not locate manual on Maintainence or Head Disk cleaning or other routine maintenance required.

It's not the heads that actually have the problem, it's the head guide that's sticking whenever it reaches those tracks mentioned. you need to open the drive initially to be able to repair or clean the malfunctioning parts. the read-write lenses be cleaned with cotton buds, and the stainless steil head guides be wiped clean and oiled.

DVD burners only last so long unfortunately! I've replaced many myself and have found that it's also not worth buying any lite-on in my opinion. Have a look around using the link below and you'l get a decent brand at a low price. Once a DVD writer has burned lot's of discs the lens itself becomes burnt out as far as I am aware, sometimes after 200 burns with cheap ones.
Individual drives - the pioneer at £18.99 isd a great buy!
