My VHS player will occasionally accept the vhs tape but then it pulls out the film then turns off or ejects the tapes how can i fix it

Unfortunately there is some damage to the drive mechanism of the VCR. This will need to be fixed. I can't say what is causing it, but it is clearly not pulling the tape back inside the cassette before the eject action takes place.

VCR won't eject tape or play & powers off

It sounds as though it's jammed. If you're mechanically inclined you can unplug the unit, take the cover off, and manually eject it. Just look for the motor that drives the load basket and manually spin the shaft. The guide-posts should retract towards the tape and the basket will then lift and eject. Just be aware that whatever bit of tape that's out of the cassette won't spool back in. You will have to do that bu hand once it's out.
When you're done, plug it back in and let it cycle then put an old cheap tape in and see if it works. If not, take it in for repair.

Tape stuck in vcr. when you press the eject button vcr starts to work but shtuts off the power Model number DVR-3034N. I have only taken the front and back covers off. Turned slanted roller untill the...

It sounds like the tape is jammed in the vcr, remove the top cover of the machine this will expose the tape. If the tape is spewed in the mechanical section and around the video head, get a pair of scissors and start cutting the tape and carefully remove all tape particles, when all tape debris has been removed, plug in vcr turn on and eject. If the tape looks good, you may have a loading basket problem, bad idler ***. or broken drive belt. "Lets hope for the best"

Tape ejects after playing for about 30 minutes

it could be dirty pinch rollers causing the tapes to tighten and be ejected. try fast forarding the tape to the end and rewinding. if this does not cure the problem, run a wet cleaner tape through.

VCR problem in EWR2OV4

When a VCR eats a tape, it can be cause by a couple things.

1. There is a rubber wheel called a "pincher wheel" that compresses the tape against the "capstan". The capstan is a shiny metal spindle. The pincher wheel can become worn and/or dirty from the oxide coating off of the tape. You can try cleaning the pincher wheel and capstan with alcohol or try using a re-grip solution on the pincher wheel. Last thing to do is replace the pincher wheel. Look to see that the pincher wheel is doing its job by pulling the tape through.

2. There is a small tire wheel called an idler tire. This tire pivots between the sending and pickup reels of the player. Its also used during fast forward & rewind as well as play. If the tire is worn, the tape won't be wound up as fast on the take-up reel as the sending reel during play. This means more tape is coming out than can be wound up. You can try using a re-grip solution on the idler tire or replace it.

Let me know if you need more information as to where to purchase these parts.

Good luck!

What do I do when my Emerson TV keeps turning off by itself?

I had the same problem with mine turning off after 3-5 seconds. After much research I found a suggestion that on some combo units the vcr part could have a power supply cutout if it is not working correctly. I tried to insert a tape and found that the tape mechanism would not accept a tape. I used a little bit of force and managed to insert a tape. I then played the tape forwards and backwards and the power stayed on! I ejected the tape and found the TV then worked just fine. The power has now been on for over one hour. I hope this give you another avenue to try and fix your problem.

Tape stuck in VCR, won't eject.

depending on th einternal design of the vcr. look for the loading/unloading mech, by finding the blak rubber belt that is looped from the motor to a pully. now turn it one way. it may thak 25 to 50 complete rotations of the belt. try turning both ways, one will load & 1 will unlaod. good luck.
