I have a frigidaire Gallery washing machine which develpoed a loud clunking when spining and hardly spins at all now. I had a tech come by who didnt look at it but spun the drum and said the main drum bearing was gone and was too costly to repair. Can anyone advise me on the steps to replacing the main bearing? Is this something I could take on myself? I live in Bermuda so getting a new washing machine is such a pain... Help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Chris
Rear Main Bearing is bad, Believe you have replace whole back of the drum, about 200$

Just tore ours apart for loud noise.Found the inner spin basket was broken at two of the three webs that hold it together, that allowed it to move foward and almost completele ware thru the front outer shell. The inner spin has a lifetime warrenty. The front outer skell cost about $170.00,but you may as well put the rear outer shell in because it has the bearings and cost about $224.00 and the seal between them is about $24.00.They make the complete assy inner & outer tub assy. #1063854 for $599.00.A new washer cost about $800.00.We are checking to see if Frigidair will cover the whole thing because the part under warrenty caused damage to other parts when it broke.

Our is doing the same thing. It seems to be washing and spinning them fairly dry, but it now makes a LOUD clunking while in the spin cycles. Anyone have a solution on this?
