I am betting it is in the dryer. Here is a video to show you how to open it. Please let me know if you find it in there. Look thru the COMPLETE duct work and blower. I doubt it is in the washer. If it is, it is under the agitator.

If you should need any further help, please visit http://appliancecafe.com/phpbb/ and register to login to the forum.

Good Luck!

Testimonial: "took the dryer apart with no problems, ring was not in there. However, it was in my pants pocket. I was 100% sure I wore my brown pants which were in the washer. I however wore some blue pants which were only worn to run to the store to get milk and propane. Put the rings in my pocket once I got home to wash my hands and they found their way into the closet. Silly me! Thanks for the help though. I found them a few days ago but at least now I know how to take my dryer apart.!! :)"

SOURCE: Whirlpool Ultimate care ii Dryer wont tumble

If your dryer doesn't tumble, check these:
Belt,
Motor,
Door switch.

Your dryer can't operate at all if the door switch is defective. It's inside the dryer main housing near the door frame. Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dryer to reach the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.
Dryers have a drive belt that turns the clothes drum. If the belt breaks, the drum stops rotating. Then you need to replace the belt, and often the idler pulley, because the pulley tends to wear out at the same time.
If the dryer motor only hums when you press the Start button, the motor may be burned out. Here's how to test the dryer motor:

Remove the belt,
Check for obstructions in the blower fan housing,
Manually rotate the shaft of the motor.

If the motor is very stiff, or impossible to rotate manually, and the blower fan housing is clear, you need to replace the motor.

If the motor rotates freely, run the motor momentarily with the belt removed and the blower in place. If the motor runs fine with the belt removed, there may be a problem with the idler pulley or the clothes drum. Try to rotate the drum by hand. If it is very difficult to move, correct any problem with the rollers or pulley, and then reassemble the dryer and try it again.

Go here to see a diagram for your model:
one of two types. "H" or "J"

SOURCE: whirlpool ultimate care II lost item in washer or dryer

It is most likely that they are in the dryer if you still have not found them. Please respond with the type of dryer that you have and I should be able to assist you in opening your machine for a good look. From what you have describe it sounds like you have an Inglis or speed queen dryer.

if you hear the motor running while it is supposed to be agitating or spinning then it is most likely the direct drive coupling between the motor and transmission.43f18ab.jpg9bd1c44.jpg if you already checked this and think it is a different problem then let me know, i will help you figure it out.  Mike

I have a WTW5600XW Cabrio Electric Dryer and a WTW5640XW Top load Washer. I have lost my ring and think it may be in either one of these. I think I forgot it in my pants pocket when I put it in ther

In the washer it could be under the agitator if it is a top loader, if it is a front loader there is really no place for it to go but check the rubber seal around the door. In the dryer it should be in the tumbler or possibly in the lint filter but unless the lint screen is broken or you ran it without one it should not be able to go out into the venting piping etc

I have a whirlpool washer and dryer model # LTE5243DQ6. I have recently lost my diamond ring that I last remember putting in my pocket. I think it might have gone through the washer or dryer. Ive checked...

it could be between the two bowls, or down into the waste pipe, where some models have a catcher for items like rings and coins.getting to it will require some disassembling that might be best done by someone who knows how it goes back together.

The felt gasket came almost all the way off whats the best & easiest way to fix it

You will need to take the whole machine apart and decide whether you wish to reuse to old one or replace it. Remember, a new one will be VERY tight and hard to replace, ( on purpose ). If you old one is in good shape, you will need some super glue to glue it back on. I do not mean the product "super glue". It take a special cement, heatproof.
You may obtain a part number on "Sears Parts" by model number.
You may also find parts on "e-bay".
Be blessed.

Lost my diamond wedding ring in washer. Where could it get stuck? My husband took the front off the washer, and opened the drain filter..nothing :( Could it get caught in the hose?

it could get caught in the water pump or between the water pump and hose outlet, it could be caught between the agitator and the washing machine tub or it could be in the **** Trap in the wall, since it's heavier than water it would be the most likely place. and if not there then the over fill tub on the sides.
