Hi Janis Angileri - The issue may lie with the door latch; a door switch is used to start and stop your dishwasher. It's a safety feature that won't allow water to flow with the door open. With a faulty door switch, there is a chance your dishwasher won't start at all. Dishwasher door switches are about an inch long. They are usually black but can be red. There are metal prongs on the body of the switch called terminals. Some door switches have two terminals and some have three. If your door switch is OK, check the timer assembly. This controls when and how long power is sent to other controls on your dishwasher. If these controls don't receive power, they won't work. The timer assembly contains a motor. Check this motor as well. It is often cheaper just to replace the timer motor rather than the complete assembly. My last suggestion is to check the cycle selector switches. These switches indicate cycles for washing, drying, and setting the temperature of the water. If one of your switches is the problem your dishwasher may not start. Dishwasher cycle selector switches tell the timer which cycle to run by opening and closing electrical circuits. Most selector switches are six to eight inches long. They are usually black and have terminals. By testing each one of these parts with an ohmmeter you should be able to determine why your dishwasher is not working. It is possible for other parts to fail but these are the most common parts to check. If any proves to be ineffective, I strongly suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately.

My Frigidaire Gallery dishwasher has the code "PF" flashing and door latch is not working. Any suggestions.

PF code on Frigidaire dishwasher
Since the PF indicates a power failure, it has most likely lost electrical connection before the control board and this is the most likely place for this to occur. Frigidaire dishwasher (PLD4375RFC0) seems to complete wash cycle but often has power failure (PF) code during the dry cycle.

the latch must be fixed for it to work a broken latch will cause this problem Frigidaire Gallery dishwasher has the code PF Google Search

Frigidaire dishwasher no power

Hello Tammy, I appreciate your post!
From my understanding your Frigidaire dishwasher has no power. You may need to review your circuit breaker located inside of your home to assure that the breaker has not been flipped. If the breaker is operating properly it could be a possible issue with your control panel or wiring. I would recommend having a professional out to your home to assure a proper diagnosis has been completed on your dishwasher. I hope that this information is helpful to your dishwasher repair. -Matt

Thank you for your inquiry, Geri!

From the information you have provided your Frigidaire dishwasher is blinking codes and you have replaced the control panel. What lights are blinking on your dishwasher? Could you provide me with your model number please? The model number can be found on the serial tag which is located on the inside left hand tub wall. With that information I would be able to assist you further. -Matt

Frigidaire dishwasher Model #fghd2433kf1 flashing light with Error 'S'. Dishwasher will not start. I was able to restart it last time this happen by disconnecting power and then pres

Thank you for your post, Cathie Sanchez!

I understand that your Frigidaire dishwasher is displaying error code "S" and will not restart. The error code "S" usually stands for sanitize, this could also be a miscommunication within the control panel. I would recommend performing a reset on your dishwasher and you can do that by disconnecting power from your dishwasher for roughly ten minutes. If you continue to experience issues with the error code I would suggest having a professional technician out for proper diagnosis and repair. Hope this is helpful. -Matt

Frigidaire dishwasher lights not working

I am assuming if the dishwasher lights are not working could mean there is no power to the dishwasher. If you have checked the power supply to dishwasher is ok then it is likely the controller or the controller power is faulty.

Will need the model number of the dishwasher to give further suggestions about the solution.

Went to turn it on and it said PF (power failure) and then went dead. Any suggestions? The breaker was fine.

It sound like you have a failure between the control board and the panel. You may not be able to diagnose this yourself but here is a breakdown which may help somewhat.250

Frigidaire Dishwasher won't start

hi there,

as u said that u have already replaced the timer u may also try the following:

Power from the house Is there power getting to the dishwasher? This can be difficult to test, because dishwashers are usually wired directly to an electrical circuit, rather than plugged into the wall. But at least check for a blown fuse or a tripped circuit breaker.

Door switch The door switch is important because, if it's defective, the dishwasher won't work at all. To reach it, you need to remove the control panel cover, or sometimes the interior liner of the door. If it's defective, you need to completely replace it.

Wiring Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the dishwasher, burns and breaks the connection. If that's the problem, the wires must be repaired/replaced as necessary. If that's not the problem, check the wiring to the door switch, the wiring between the door and the lower part of the dishwasher, and the wiring to the timer. Repair any broken, burned, brittle, or defective wiring, using the proper appliance-grade wire and connectors.
