Broken Shutter The shutter of my Panasonic Lumix DMC-LC33 won't open when switched on. I was caught in a sand storm and I reckon that is the cause. Everything else seems to be working fine. Can I mend it myself or do I have to send it to be mended. There are no camera shops at all where we live and it would have to be sent overseas. Thanks

You could sent it away- I suspect the likely price will be more than a new camera however. So buy the new camera - then you have one to strip down your self if you are that way inclined.

My lumix camera will come on, but the display for the pifture is black, how do i fix this

I think most of these questions about black LCD's and black pictures relate to a stuck shutter. My Lumix LX2 has this. The screen is black and so are the pictures. On looking at the shutter through a magnifying glass I took a shot and I saw that the iris works fine, but the shutter did not open. I am sending the camera for repair at a reasonable rate from Clearer images here in the UK.This is the email: [email protected]. Time will tell won't it?

For a Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ28, how do you set the self timer for taking fotos on a tripod?

You set the self timer with the round rocker switch on the back of the camera. Press the icon on the left side, the little clock shape. One press for 10 seconds delay, again for 2 seconds, again to cancel (icon will show on screen). Then press the shutter button- the shutter will fire after the delay.

Hello,
You may change your shutter speed in Manual mode only. So you should turn your mode dial button to M position. Then you may control both shutter speed and aparture value.

Page 77 of the manual tells you how (There's a lot of symbols and screen prints - so I won't cut and paste it here).

Seems fairly straightforward

Zoom and shutter not functioning

that is a symptom of being dropped and stuck in a mode.
it requires total dissemble of the camera to fix or replace the lens. your lucky it takes pictures at all. most cameras refuse if the lens is stuck.
