Colors are not in line together, 3D look

Hi, Since you did not provide a model# for your TV I will guess the picture looks like a 3D shape. If the Red, Green and Blue colors are separated from each other then, the convergence circuit is the problem. The repair may cost between $185 to over $200.

Common Problem #1) Convergence has gone out

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. U mean ur tv have colors shadows?Colors lines Red,Green,Blue misaligns don't line up to produced a solid picture?U have a 3D pic?All these are cause by a problems known as CONVERGENCE PROBLEMS.Ur tv the convergence board the 2 convergence ICS and some or all it resistors are dead.All these parts on the convergencce board,must be replaced to solved convergence problems.The shop will cost u $300-350 for parts and labors.

Your TV most likely has one of two possible problems.

Problem #1: Convergence Chip Failure ( common problem )

Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem

• Screen looks 3D

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.



You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kits for most models. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick note and they will put one together for you. Do not adjust any knobs as instucted in the previous thread if you TV have a convergence problem. Doing so will only make things worse. The blog does however show you how to fix other common problems with these sets.

Each color (red,green & blue) has an amplifier IC (STK-).
When there is a convergence issue,the first step is change both
IC's for reliability. Then check for open fuses devices,usually
pico fuses.Then re-check convergence alignment.......T.
