I cannot connect my sony handycam to my computer to transfer the video. I recorded on a dvd-r and a dvd-rw. My computer drive only takes dvd+rw. I tried to buy a firewire cable, but my computer does not have a jack for that cable. When I connect with a regular usb, the computer says that my sony handycam is not digitally signed. Please help me! thanks!
You should have got a sofware disc with the handycam when you bought it.if you load the disc it should accept the video on usb.if you dont have the disc try sonys website for software,.
Where do i find the cd number on my sony handycam dcr-hc36?
If ur handycam have firewire, ur computer should have firewire too. buy a IEEE1394 PCI card. any video editing software will automatically detect a firewire connection. install a usb driver for usb connection and don't bother the "not digitally signed" continue installing. usb driver can be downloaded for specific gadget.

i don't know if this a great solution. anytime i tried to port video from the camera to the computer(vista), i couldn't get it to work. i bought a dazzle, but sorry folks i think it's junk. take video, stills and DV to memory stick then read it from there. it works great. i spent alot of time trying diffrent ways and this way is the best. pull you're dvd's from there too. one more thing- lightscribe and label flash are extremely over rated.
