I purchased this t.v. and it didn't come with a remote. I purchase a universal one, and now I can't get it to work with the t.v. . I need the t.v.'s four digit code. I have tried the 25 different codes listed in the hand book but can't seem to get them to work. I need help.

Unless you want a direct replacement, that is an OEM replacement, you can purchase any quality "universal" remote to work with your TV.
If you need an OEM, post the exact TV brand and model.
A universal works by entering a special code for your specific TV brand and model, (from a list supplied with the remote) and testing to see if it works, If it doesn't, you try another code. Some TV's have a dozen codes or more before you find one that works.
The codes in the owner manual don't work not any codes out here will help u.Return the universal remote.Try website like Remotes.com to buy an exact remote as original remote, might have some new JVC codes u could tries, but not likely it will work either.
Some more suggestions to see if your remote control has just lost it's programming is try unplugging your television and taking the batteries out of the remote control for atleast 5 minutes. If this doesn't work, or you've tried tvtek's advice up top and you still can't get your remote control to work, I would try ordering a original replacement remote control for your specific television. I would not recommend purchasing a universal remote, because half the time the problem with it not working could just be caused by it using the incorrect code. If you go to a site like http://www.remotecontrolscenter.com and look through their site for the exact model number of your television and purchase that remote control than you'll have a good idea if it's the remote or the television. Most likely you'll find it was the remote control!
