When system files are missing on the player, you will need to reinstall the FIRMWARE
When looking online for the connection type for the H10 / H10JR, I can see 2 CONNECTION TYPES for the H10 / H10JR:
1. MTP, when using Windows Media Player 11
( WMP11 ), for the H10.
2. iRiver Plus, when using iRiver PLUS
, for the H10JR.
The connection type determines what software on the computer
will be used for transferring media.
Each software on the computer needs corresponding firmware on the player
to be installed.
When the player itself comes up with the information to connect to iRiver PLUS, this is the correct software for this device probably. Then the device is a H10JR.
When not having the program iRiver PLUS
, go to the iRiver support site, for the download:
In the left column click Plus3
and go for the download.
Run iriver plus 3 and then select [Tools > Portable Device > Firmware Upgrade] from the menu.
