The laptop will come on for a few seconds to a black screen make a beeping noise and turn off repeatedly. There also seems to be a problem with the disk drive, it keeps popping out.

Re: HP ZD8000 won't come on
Try to change the RAM and see if that helps the beeping. Normally, repeating beeps mean bad RAM. Not sure what the problem is with the disk drive, seems to be a mechanical problem.
Thanks,

Hi,
have some experience as a technician, able to replace the keyboard and palm rest of your laptop.
if it is not able to look for someone who will be able to do
It could be dangerous for your laptop or PC because if relates with your processor but this problem could handle normally if this problem seems with RAM. I hope that if you replace your RAM, the problem will be solved but if the problem persist then you will have to replace your processor.
Hi there,
I am also facing same problem with my Dell Inspiron mini 1012, when i turn on my laptop it makes a beeping noise for about 15 seconds.the screen also goes black after this for about the same time.then the laptop works fine just wondering what may be the cause of this.

The most common reason that your cursor skips around is that you are touching the touch pad when typing. Some are more sensitive than others. On my Toshiba I had that problem, but it has a Fn key that allows me to turn off the touchpad. Problem went away when I went to a mouse instead. Had a client with a Dell with the same problem. I had to actually physically disconnect the touchpad and her problem went away. Now as for the first problem, (the HP), I'd say you have a stuck key on the keyboard. It would make that noise.
Try to unplug all the PCI cards and boot, if its still doing it check the ram. If its still doing it check to see if the power supply is good. If all that fails, It could be eather a bad mother board or bad processor.
