360 i posted yesterday because i messed up the tray on my 360 and i finally got it to close. Now the tray wont open open at all. microsoft told me to send it in but the thing about it is I have a modded system. my question is if I send it in what will happen. Will they fixed it and send me mines back if they dont ralize the mod or will they send me a refurbished one and I have to get a new mod. anybody had this problem before? When they fix your console do you get yours back or do they send you a whole new one?

I beleive they send you a completely new one for replacement. Unfortuniately I have yet to had to send mine in for repairs.

My xbox 360 elite takes ages to read a disk. It says open tray close tray for ages before finally playing game after about 10minutes but sometimes still stop halfway through saying 'disc unreadable'

My xbox always says open tray and close tray, it wont play my games, no red ring

The disc tray is messing up. The same thing is happening with my 360. Here are two different suggestions:

Put the disc in the 360, and then turn the console off. Turn it back on, and it might start playing the game for you. This has worked for me a few times.

Call Microsoft's Support line (I think it's 1-800-MY-XBOX in the US), and tell them about it. If your console is within warranty, they should repair it for you, free of charge.

The power light blinks, reads open tray/close tray . . .

it sounds like your dvd drive is dead if its still under warranty you should just send it back to microsoft the only other thing you could do is buy a replacement dvd drive and put it in yourself but only do that if microsoft wont take it or you'll void your warranty

Xbox 360 disk tray wont stay shut

My 360 is/was having a similar problem...my 360 would say "reading disc" then "open tray". Well since my system is only about 8 months old...I opted to send it in for repair. Its under warranty. My system is in route to be fixed as we speak. I would advise you to get yours registered too.

Try putting the game in straight. By straight i mean putting the disc in where the xbox 360 logo at the top of the disc goes in the tray towards the xbox360. if that does not work contact microsoft

hmm never heard of this before but i know a way you can find out whats wrong

call microsofts support line for xbox consoles at 1-800-4myxbox you will talk to somone and explain exactly what you just posted and they will tell you whats wrong. it might be under there warranty as well. so just call them and see what they say

Disk wont open or close

well i had the same problem with my xbox is i opened the faceplate and pressed the button and if that doesnt work u will have to wiggle it around a little bit if it comes out what u need to do is take some WD-40 and spray some on a cloth or something to wipe the sides of the tray and the silver part of the tray and open and close it a couple of times if it opens and closes put the faceplate back on and it should open and close now
