When I put in a Xbox game the Xbox makes a ticking sound as it is loading the game. Sometimes it says that the disk is dirty and other times the game starts. However, when it does start, anytime it is loading anything it makes the ticking sound and loads extremely slow. Oftentimes it also locks up during a game (I'm guessing from the loading issue).

The users manual for the xbox 360 says to never move the console with a game inside. In doing so, you probably knocked the disc off the spindle causing it to grind against the laser and laser assembly. The ticking noise is probably from the motor that moves the laser back and forth across the disc. A spring may have come loose from the motor causing it to click as the screw occasionally slips from the guides. This should not cause a problem, however the plastic inside the motor may wear out causing the "open tray" error after some time in which case a repair will be necessary.
Sounds like the Xbox 360's disk drive is starting to fail. Knocking on the top of the Xbox (when its on its side) while loading a game can sometimes get it to work, but its better to have your Xbox repaired or replace.
does it do that when you try to use the disk drive for other cd's. if so your disk drive is going. clean the cd even small about of dirt on cd will prevent it from working. wipe cd with clean dry cloth, get off any finger prints.
your laser is nearly dead and needs replacing, the ticking sound indicates that the laser is at the end of its lifespan OR possibly needs cleaning and the power adjusting.
A Fault on M$FT's part theyre is no buffers above the disk causing it to bump against the laser. Call M$ tell them its scratched a game make a fuss and they will either send you a new game or a credit voucher
Sounds like it is not reading the disk, make sure it is clean. Can you hear it trying to spin?
I hope you didn't push too ******* the door, you can make it jump a tooth on the loading gear making it go out of time. Check here for more solutions http://fix-your-xbox-360.blogspot.com/
